A voicemail from Gov. Charlie Crist to Democratic Senate candidate Kendrick Meek from earlier this week emerged on Saturday, suggesting Crist asked Meek to withdraw from the three-way race.
The existence of the voicemail comes a day after questions arose about whether former President Bill Clinton pressured Meek to give up his bid and back Crist.
Meek says Clinton discussed the topic but didn't press him to exit the race. Instead, Meek has said it was Crist who asked him to withdraw.
In a voicemail message left for Meek by Crist at 5 a.m. Monday, Crist asks Meek to meet sometime that day after a political event where the governor asked the Democratic congressman face-to-face to bow out.

Charlie Crist is Whacked!
I commend Meeks - although I’d never vote for him, he’s hanging in there. He even hammered Crist a couple of times at the debate.

I’m thinking Meeks may have cause for a restraining order.

I think you got it. When Crist loses he knows he is through politically unless he can bring in tons of dough for the left.
In which case they will embrace him as they do others ready to put on the C-4 vest and take that last walk into the crowded stands.

I am sorry..I think this is a Clinton plan to get the Black vote out, it won't help Meek win, but it will help Sink. A Democrat Governor in the year off redistricting...JMHO...I have put p with many Florida elections in my 40 years here....used to be a poll watcher, now bed redden, but I still keep up with politics

I agree and thought about the same thing. It could help sink.

But that does not mean Crist won’t finish 3rd as well.

One reason I love being on the west coast. I’ll get to see Rubio win and Crist talk a fall early in the evening.

Charlie and Baraq have identical skin tones!
No wonder it was “OK” for him to ask Meek to drop out.
Charlie qualifies as a “person of color” too.
