This is not an official Vatican position. It is the statement of a Synod of Catholic Bishops from the Middle East, meeting in the Vatican, at the invitation of the Pope, who did not participate in or control its deliberations or proclaim its results. These Arab Bishops have tended to lean against Israel over the decades, in part for the protection of their flocks.

Calling on readers to clarify for the poster.

Perhaps a Methodist would like to translate?

Okay, guess that’s a small comfort. Bht when, then, will the POPE speak on this??? When will he take a stand on something so fundamental?

They want to blame the Jews for their predicament. The Muslims are in the process of forcing all Arab Christians out of their countries. My guess is that this is the reason why the Vatican opposed the war in Iraq. They guessed that the United States would do nothing to protect Christians and that it would stir up the Arab hornet’s nest, which has been growing and growing since the First World War. The formerly Christian state of Lebanon has been destroyed. Within a few years, Christians will be rare everywhere in the Middle East, maybe even in Egypt.

That’s like Bill Clinton saying Sen. Byrd had to join the KKK in order to get elected. He did it for you.
