OK so I'm starting a little less than 24 hours before the polls open but let's get going. On this thread we can discuss races in MA, New England--and beyond. Howie Carr ping list members will be pinged (suggested you add this thread to favorites/bookmarks). If others wish to be added you may ping me (for this thread) though probably best you may just bookmark the thread.
Follow us through the long election day and night and beyond.
For those not familiar with the show: The Howie Carr Show is carried on WRKO AM 680 Boston and 10 other stations. Some of them streamcast. On WRKO only, Tue will have Howie on till 9 pm followed by Joe Battenfeld (9 pm-mid.) and Avi Nelson (mid-3 am)
Irreverent, entertaining, and informative. Featuring the chump line at 5 pm.
Streamcasting at WRKO (requires registration), WCRN, and WNTK among others
I want to see Barney Frank lose. I don’t care what the margin is, just as long as Mr. Frank is defeated.
Buh-Bye, Barney!
Let’s hope so!
Real Clear Politics has moved the MA governor’s race

It would also be a blessing to see Mr. Patrick lose.
“Obama Lite”!
(Howie’s show normally runs 3-7 pm ET weekdays. Tomorrow till 9p)
The statewide races cannot be overlooked as they are just as, if not more important. While I'm not a big fan of Charlie Baker, we've got to put him over the top. Due to the census, we are likely to lose another congressional district and without a Republican governor, you can bet that the redistricting will take out a GOP congressman.
Also, it's important to get Karen Polito into the Treasurer seat; Mary C. in the auditor's chair and Bill Campbell as S of S. In the attorney general race, wouldn't it be nice to see Martha Coakley lose twice in one year - go Jim McKenna!
I was at a meeting where one of Marty Lamb’s campaign assistants spoke and their internal polling has him and McGovern VERY close.
Don’t forget Massachusetts voters, tell everyone you know to vote for James McKenna for Attorney General, get Coakley out of office!
Hope so too; Bielat has been seen in polls being 12 points behind him but voters could well be passionate enough to broom Frank out. Golnik could beat Tsongas; a co-worker of mine who lives in the Fifth noted she barely won her seat in ‘06. Hoping for best for Hudak; while Salem News endoresed Johnny Pockets (Eagle-Tribune went for Bill), you do see a lot
of lawn signs for Hudak especially “up-county” and who knows,
he could pull out a slight win.
Perry could well win
>>we are likely to lose another congressional district and without a Republican governor, you can bet that the redistricting will take out a GOP congressman.
Howie was hoping Fast Eddie Markey could be the one
whose district gets gerrymandered out...Howie was for
Galvin over Campbell!
btw it’s kind of trivial but I learned recently that
“gerrymandering” should be pronounced “gary-mandering”.
Elbridge Gerry’s surname was pronounced “gary” with a soft G
McGovern, Tsongas, Fagan, Patrick, Frank, Tierney, et al, THEY ALL NEED TO GO!
Any news on Wesley repealing Neal?
What do you think is wrong with Galvin? Even Howie wrote that he deserves another term. And I recall hearing a few years that the state GOP was trying to talk deJong into running against him, but deJong just said, "Galvin's doing a great job -- why would I want to run against him?"
I would love to see Marty Lamb pull this out. I don’t have him in my forecast only because I have zero information about the polling out there and he (Lamb) is being outspent by over a 10 to 1 margin. But your report is very encouraging.
Campbell supports requiring an ID to vote and Galvin doesn’t. That issue alone is enough for me as it speaks directly to voter fraud.
I didn't know Galvin had said anything about it. In any case, is there anything the Secretary of State can do about it? I would think it was a legislative matter.
Supposedly Jeff Katz will be on WXKS 1200 AM tonight between 8 pm and 11 pm and possibly later...election coverage
Ping for election day itself. Howie Carr ping list included;
for all I would suggest you add this to your favorites or bookmarks (mine says “E Day Thread”)
Howie is on till 7 tonight on his network but on WRKO he will stay on till 9 (not sure if other “network” stations will join in though?) followed by Joe Battenfeld 9-mid and Avi Nelson Mid-3a. WXKS, WBZ, WTKK, and the local National
Pinko Radio stations also should have coverage as well as local TV, papers etc.
