ATLANTA (AP) -- Authorities say a driver enraged because a 17-year-old boy egged his Mercedes on Halloween fatally shot the prankster in the neck and throat as he tried to run away.
Atlanta police spokeswoman Kim Jones says the driver confronted the teen and fired 10 shots at him around 8 p.m. Sunday.

I conclude that Mr. King was a person of diversity. But I also conclude that the shooter was a person of diversity, else this would have been splayed across the front page of every newspaper in the country.

this person obviously made a very bad decision and hopefully will have to pay a price for said actions. this is one of the perils that goes along with carrying....you have to be disciplined enough to carry without doing something stupid during an emotional moment. i sometimes worry that in a tense situation when things are happening quickly that it would be easy to make a wrong decision. it’s a tough subject, but one that every individual that would like to carry a firearm has to consider.
No doubt or the headlines would have read:

Absolutely. And between the two, the shooter and the shootee, I can't help but think that the latter is more to blame, at least on a personal level. It's one thing for a teenager to commit petty vandalism, but assuming that the shooter was an adult, to wreck not one, but two lives over such an act is tantamount to a modern-day tragedy. I mean, what the hell was going through the bugger's mind? You know that he was fully aware that killing the juvenile would send him to prison, if not forever, than for a very long period of time. Yet nothing was more important than assuaging his feelings at that particular moment. Now he's got to think about it every time Big Bubba blows in his ear.
