LIVE THREAD - North Carolina Results
NC SBOE ^

Posted on 11/02/2010 4:54:45 PM PDT by MitchellC

I'll try to keep up with the results as they come out.

The big races:

SENATE- Richard Burr (R) (inc) v Elaine Marshall (D)

US House 2- Bob Etheridge (D) (inc) v Renee Ellmers (R)

US House 7- Mike McIntyre (D) (inc) v Ilario Pantano (R)

US House 8- Larry Kissell (D) (inc) v Harold Johnson (R)

US House 11- Heath Shuler (D) (inc) v Jeff Miller (R)

Republicans are expected to do very well in local races, and Dem pollsters PPP believe we will pick up both chambers of the state legislature.

Something is wrong. Ellmers has been leading in the polls.

I was hoping Shuler would go down but it doesn’t look like it. Buncombe county has reported most precincts and it went heavily for Shuler but it was expected. Even with the rural counties still reporting though I don’t see Miller making up the difference.

The black precincts may not have reported yet and that could change NC12 drastically. Dority didn’t even show up for the debate against Watt. But I’m shocked this seat is in play. Keep your fingers crossed!

You must be looking at the results for a single county.

It’s a massively Dem-heavy district, close to 50% black.

34 of 58 precincts reporting in Durham County...73% Price. Some days I really, really wonder why I live in this craphole.

I work from the coast to the W-S area,
and of the areas covered, Durham is the scariest!
There are sites I will not go to at night or weekends on emergency calls.

I live in the 2nd district and frankly wondered why Etheridge didn’t seem to bother campaigning all that much as Ellmers was running 5 pts ahead. And suddenly he is winning? I am so sick of this crap.

Latest update from SBOE shows Rats up in all five heavily contested House races. Etheridge, Price, McIntyre, Kissell, Shuler ALL leading. What the hell? Can this state really buck the strong national trend and send all five of those Rats back to Washington?

That race is still tight. Don’t give up yet.

I am ashamed of NC. I thought the diehard liberal counties would wake up. McIntyre is a joke.

How could Burr win and all the other dems survive? Pantano
was way closer in the polls than the 7000 votes. The counties are all slow half ass reporting and it is almost 10:OOPM. I know NC has diehard libs in the triangle but C’mon.

Like my spouse just said when they just announced Bawney Fwank won. Do people not watch TV? He destroyed this country with the CRAct.

Ellmers is now ahead by ~1300 votes with 75% reporting, don’t give up yet.
