If the republicans take the white house in 2012 and control the senate and house then the best way to avoid absolute disaster is to let the country split apart. Red states becoming a new free nation and blue states becoming a hopeless welfare disaster.

I believe the same thing... sometime in the next 20 years. The nation is way too ideologically split to survive as a 50-state entity. A breakup is going to have to happen.

If Palin wants to run an out of the box campaign, these are some ideas. She could even get democrat votes knowing the Fed govt under her leadership and belief in genuine federalism would leave them alone in Kalifornia etc.

A divorce for the USA is not a bad idea in theory but the devil would be in the details and what happens with serious disagreement on who gets what.
