The White House is sending a we-get-it message following Tuesdays Republican romp.
A top aide to President Barack Obama said not to look for a change in his fundamental principles, but certainly there were messages that have to be heeded, and we will.
If you believe in democracy, we were swept in by a big wave, so you have to pay attention to these results and what they were saying, the aide said. [Voters] want us to work together, to focus on the economy to work together on that cooperatively, and were going to do that.
The tone was more humble than is customary for this White House, and the aide promised a period of introspection.
The aide also mentioned deficits as an area that the parties can do a better job of working together.
There are lessons for us, and there are lessons for [Republicans], as well, the aide said. This wasnt a vote for more partisanship, for more ideology. This was a vote for cooperation and pragmatism.
They want us to hold government responsible. Were, in a sense, responsible. And were going to do that.

Obama has three events on his schedule today a briefing at 9:30, the presser at 1pm and another meeting with his advisors at 2:55. He is deep in the bunker, surrounded by his trusty sycophants, his reality clouded by booze, drugs or both. The world is closing in on him, and soon the NY Times will be dribbling out stories about the scandals surrounding him. His allies in the HOuse and Senate have either been thrown out of office or are so scared of the people they will turn on Barry in an instant.
Get out the popcorn, watching Obama melt down will be like watching Captain Queeg in the Mutiny on the Bounty.
So, in layman's terms Jughead is telling us "Yeah, I heard what you said, but I ain't doing anything other than what I have been doing since day 1".
Hello, White House spinners. The difference is, that was then and this is now. New mandate now.
Denial ain't (just) a river in Egypt.
Yeah, yeah, I know. Think phonetic.
we-get-it
No, you don’t. You can’t, because of the thousands of things I can easily accuse Obama of, there is one I will not accuse him off—not believing in his personal philosophy.
He is such a hollow shell with only his belief in his insane ideology holding him together.
He only gets one thing—that the American people are as stupid as he’s always thought we were, and he is a lone hero against the stupid, stupid American people who he will fight to the end to “give” them things with their own money, whether they like it or not.
Harry Reid said it, too: he’s going to fight harder. These clowns think that the problem is how they communicate. They don’t realize that they don’t have a communication problem - they have a MESSAGE problem!!
That's coming.
This will be a totally new experience for Obama!
Gotcha Barry. We're still THE ENEMY. Soros must be so disappointed that his investment was a huge dud.Party on!
The new mantra from the left.
The election was telling everyone to work together!
NO NO NO NO NO A THOUSAND TIMES NO
Ooooo-kay! We'll see how that one works out.
But as it turns out, this guy could be the gift that keeps on giving. Given his ideological intransigence, not only will the Tea Party NOT go away, it'll continue to get stronger!
Think the last 2 years was bumpy? Hang on - that's all I can say!
CA....
And what better way to show that, than to rush off to India with 40 airplanes and 3000 people at a cost of multi millions.
President 0bama,
You’ve been handed a Slurpee.
Will you drink?
This election put the RINOs in the drivers seat. I will be surprised if DumBO does not say he looks forward to working with majority leader McCain at his press conference before he jets off to India to give the Indians the opportunity to worship him.
We will have more taxes.
Let us all thank the president. If he were to repeal Obamacare, he could get re-elcted. If he does nothing with it and resists all attempts to replace, he is in trouble.
The independent voters will say this in 2 years: we wanted smaller government, we wanted a better economy, and we wanted obamacare gone. Two out of three will not cut it.
WRONG......this WAS a vote for partisanship. NO more diluting of our principles. The GOP now has a chance to show that we ARE conservative in values, economy, and limited Government. If not, it is over for the GOP and DEMS... here comes the Tea Party!!
Obama and Reid just became the party of “no”.
OK....California....

The deceased usually elect Democrats.. This is the first time Ive seen Democrats elect the deceased
”
I think this is actually great news. The only way Clinton survived was getting on board the Republican wave in 1994.
We cannot afford for Obama to survive politically and with attitude the WH is taking they will get crushed by the wave the next 2 years. I hope Reid and the liberal Left continue to think it is 2008.
The Republicans need to continue to put their foot on the neck of the Left and drive them out of office in 2012.
This will be a very ugly 2 years but Republicans need to be ready to fight because all the weapons will be coming out by the Left with MSM as the accomplice.
