Tom Foley Asks Susan Bysiewicz To Hold Off On Calling Election Results "Official"
Hartford Courant ^ | 11/4/10 | Christopher Keating

[Main part of article about ongoing count delete]

In another development, state Sen. Kevin Witkos - who works as a police supervisor in Canton - is calling for an investigation into the Election Day use of the Reverse 9-1-1 system in Bridgeport.

The system was used to call voters in order to tell them that the voting hours had been extended by two hours to 10 p.m., based on an order by a Superior Court judge after some polling places ran out of ballots.

...

"State law is very clear that reverse 9-1-1 is an emergency notification system only,'' Witkos said. "As a matter of fact, the law very clearly states that the system is to be used 'only in case of life-threatening emergencies.'

...

He added, "Since some people got the reverse 9-1-1 message and some did not, I have to ask if we are to assume that being notified about the extended voting hours rose to the level of a 'life threatening emergency' for residents of some parts of the city but not others. On its face, this is appalling.''

I looked at the town results and see what you mean. But what was the turnout percentage? I know you're outnumbered, but I'm in Florida and so are we. But we have the ground game, we turn out the voters in our conservative areas, and they make the difference statewide, because the Dems don't/can't get their people to the polls.
They have a 600,000 vote registration advantage, and we just swept the election: Senator, Governor, the whole Cabinet, and gave both legislative chambers a veto-proof majority. Our urban areas are also heavily democrat- so we focus on the suburbs and rural areas. I made 2500 phone calls this election- our party total was more than 5 Million.
I have family in CT, and get the impression they don't think anything can be done- and I am telling you that is WRONG. If you get organized between now and 2012, down to the precinct level, and turn out your voters, you will be amazed at what you can accomplish.
And you need to bring your tea party people into the act- they aren't necessarily party people, but they are conservative and passionate. Running their own candidates from such a small base is futile. They need to help recruit and support conservative candidates most likely to succeed.
Good Luck!

At least until they “find” enough votes to put the Rat candidate ahead.

If the GOP House doesn't address voter fraud as a number one priority they are fools.

They wear that label proudly, but one can hope, I guess. They have slept through voter fraud issues for decades, why wake up now?

The fraud in the CT election is so blatant and naked that the people of CT and GOP Reps in Hartford should PHYSICALLY prevent any swearing in of Malloy, should he be declared the winner. NOTHING short of a re-vote can be accepted.

I’ve been in CT my entire life and it can be incredibly frustrating coping with the borrow and spend mentality of Hartford. As an bureaucratically over-burdened small business owner, my animus towards the State is particularly intense.

The best thing for CT may be to have Malloy take the governorship. Only then would CT have a chance to truly understand the real havoc and destruction progressives can unleash when their power is unchecked. CT apparently needs to taste some more pain before it figures out that the left is destroying the State. Hopefully it’s not too late, because CT is already WAY down in the hole.

In some ways Obama was the best thing that happened to the country... it awakened the silent majority. Perhaps Malloy and the rest of the corrupt state democrats can provide the same effect for CT voters.

loser mentality.....if a moderate pub took office, you would be surprised how relieved and happy many people would be...the people who for years have had to hide under the table .....

I've heard other freepers be very negative and wish that "maybe the rat should win" to show some thing but its a suspicious attitude to me...

Loser mentality...that’s a good one. How about realist’s mentality? Yeah, maybe Bridgeport is going to be closer than we think!

Almost the entire state went Democrat. a bunch of “savvy” moderate CT voters thought they’d vote mostly Democrat and then vote R for governor. Gee, why not, it’s worked so well for CT in the past.

CT voters need to wake up, grow up, and start voting Republican across the board.

Lawyers for Foley were just on Cablevision Channel 12 and claimed that Bridgeport city officials refused to count a bag of photocopied ballots that turned up. Foley’s lawyers are trying to get State Police to sieze the bag.

Acorn alive and well in CT.

This is going to be a while before it gets sorted out. There is a Congressional seat at stake here too CT4.

Welcome to CT! If you have moved here from California you will fit in this State perfectly.. Seriously, contact a Tea Party person in your area or the town/city Republican Party. I’m in Fairfield County if I can help and pinged a few helpers to get you started.

I thought that the way that most places handled the running out of ballot issue was to send some of the workers out to the end of the line at 8pm and anyone already in line could stay and vote, anyone coming after was clearly late and not allowed to vote. The option making the polls stay open for an additional 2 hrs is not right. Letting those who arrived prior to the closing time wait for the ballots to arrive and vote is.

I’m in CT also and I do not believe having Malloy in office will teach anyone anything. Malloy as Governor will only further the bankrupt condition the state is in, not allow redistricting that could affect the elections in 2012, the increase in taxes will be huge and business will suffer from the increased bureaucracy and distain for profits.
The 300 ballots found in a closet tonight in Bridgeport will be a normal way of voting in CT., Malloy administration will allow this type of practice as it is for the greater good.

It took Obama, Pelosi, and Reid to wake most of America up.

Having Malloy as Gov. may not teach you or me anything, but maybe a whole bunch of “middle of the road” people in CT will finally realize what the State dems are truly about.

That being said, CA, MA, NY, and RI still don’t get it.

Just moved here about a month ago from Chicago suburbs. And I thought Chicago elections were crooked!

I’d like to talk to some Tea Party people in my area. I’m in Stamford.
