Sunsets and jet contrails happen every single day, but not every day has just the right mix of magical ingredients at just the right moment to produce a visually striking scene.

For example, if I had been standing somewhere else during the exact 60 seconds bracketing the moment I took this photo, it would not have looked anything like what you see here:

I'm sure that he found the orange glow of the contrail to be just as visually striking as I did this Kansas sunset.

And contrails can certainly make for some extremely visually striking photographs:

How about this, is this a missile launch?

It looks vertical, but it's horizontal, just like the one in LA.

There you go again with what you think. I can do that, also, and don't need any help doing it. I was asking about the photographer's intention since it was noted on this thread that this happens all the time - it's seen often.

Other than that, great photos. Thanks, I enjoyed them.
