'We" arent getting poorer. Non government employees are getting poorer. Those in govt jobs, particularly govt union jobs, are fat and happy.

Don’t confuse the median with the mean.
It may sound trivial, but the influx of low pay / no (legal) pay aliens skew the median quite a bit.
Remember that giant sucking sound that Ross Perot talked about. That’s where all the jobs went.
