Actually, if you go to the original source:

The suit, filed earlier this year in Amarillo's U.S. District Court, alleges the woman was singled out for "extended search procedures" while preparing to board an aircraft destined for Amarillo on May 29, 2008.

The suit said the woman filed an administrative claim against the TSA, but the agency never responded, sparking the lawsuit.


Someone pointed me to a similar lawsuit by a flight attendant in NJ. It turns out that it's a long and arduous process to successfully sue a government agency. The administrative claim is the first step.

As long as it is within the statute of limitations. No problem with this. She may have gone to an attorney right away, but didn’t file for a couple of years. Happens all the time.
