Finally...oh he use to be a dem and switched when he saw the writing on the wall in the State of Texas...no dems elected to high office. Perry was a legislator who was asked to switch parties to run against very lefwing TX Commissioner of Agriculture, Jim Hightower, in 1990. He ran and ended Hightower's political career. I'm grateful that Hightower never got to run for senator or governor!
