TSA strip searches young boy.
We are taught from a very young age that the government agents (such as police, FBI, etc) are our ‘friends’. And we believe, because our teachers wouldn’t lie to us, would they?
That is where most of the support for armed government agencies come from. Most people can never set aside the Officer Friendly model.
History is our guide. At no time in history has police power ended up being used for the good of the people. It always ends up being used as a tool to protect the government entities at the expense of the people. Our country is no exception.
Some people still support the TSA. It is always thus.
But you knew all this already.

Fox News? Ha, this morning the morons on their Good Morning show were trying to justify all this. I don’t know their names, but one of those clowns was saying that 75% of the American people say “whatever it takes to keep us safe is OK”, so it must be OK, right?
I’m sure that 75% of the German people thought that whatever it took for the Nazi government to keep them safe from those predatory Jews was OK, too.

Agree wholeheartedly. And this attitude is what is a big part of the problem. Until the inconvenience of changing one's travel plans is outweighed by the humiliation of the government's personal and physical assault, many people seem willing to tolerate it even if they hate it.
Case in point: Sean Hannity has been very outspoken about the assaults on innocent Americans at the hands of TSA gropers but when asked by a caller this week if he was going to change his Thanksgiving travel plans because of it he replied "if it's a choice between freezing my butt off in New York instead of going to Florida" he was going to tolerate the actions of the TSA agents. So much for principle. "Great American"?, I think more of an "American of Convenience."
TSA AGENTS TOOK MY SON
As I sit and write this post, 24 hours after this event took place, my hands still shake… with rage and with terror.
I woke up this morning to my husband’s alarm clock, sat straight up in bed and thought “Where’s Jackson?” with fear paralyzing me.
My worst nightmare took place yesterday. Worse than events that have taken place an More..d that I have survived in my short 28 years of living. Worse than my wildest of dreams could conjure.
My son was taken from me.
Taken.
My son was taken from me by the TSA agents at Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson airport yesterday.
He was taken away from me and OUT OF MY SIGHT because his pacifier clip went off when I carried him through the metal detector.
According to the Transportation Security Administration website, “We will not ask you to do anything that will separate you from your child or children.”
Bullshit TSA.
You took my son. MY SON.
Here’s what took place… minute by terrifying minute…
I had Jackson in his stroller, his diaper bag, and a duffle bag which contained my mac book as I entered security. I placed all of these items on the conveyor belt to go through the metal detector. Jackson was in my arms, and in the midst of getting all of our gear on the conveyor belt, my mistake was neglecting to take off my son’s pacifier clip that hangs from his shirt, which is metal.
The instant I walked through the metal detector with Jackson in my arms, we beeped. I knew exactly why.
I told the TSA agent, who asked me to back up and walk through again, “It’s my son’s pacifier clip, can I put it on the conveyor belt?”
“Ma’am turn around and come back please,” I was told.
Of course Jackson’s clip went off again. Both Jackson and I were then escorted to a 6 ft tall plastic holding box because I was forced to wait for a female TSA agent to search me.
At this point in time, all of my belongings were sitting at the opposite end of the conveyor belt, thereby backing up every other passengers belongings because I was not there to gather mine.
A woman out of the kindness of her heart (and if you are out there somewhere reading this, THANK YOU) saw me just standing and waiting in my 6 ft plastic box and gathered my belongings for me. She waited with my stroller, my diaper bag, my duffle bag and my mac book. This woman motioned to me that everything (including my flip flops) was all together and then she left.
She must be a mother.
She understood.
I was so grateful.
4 female TSA agents stood at the end of 2 conveyor belts, gloves on their hands, none of them searching anyone, none of them doing anything but watching luggage pass through the conveyor belts.
It was at this point in time that I realized my flight was leaving in less than 45 minutes. I had not even been searched yet. I began to panic.
Through the 6 holes in the plastic box that contained Jackson and I, I began asking for help. I waved to all 4 female TSA agents, each of them looked at me and then looked away. Then I started speaking through the 6 holes, and said, “Can someone please search me? My flight leaves in less than 45 minutes.”
Each of the 4 women answered me using the same exact phrase…
“Ma’am you need to wait. I don’t care about your departure time.”
Eventually one of the four female TSA agents opened the door and let Jackson and I out of our plastic containment box. We were escorted to a chair that was opposite from where my belongings were. I asked if I could bring my belongings over or take a seat closer to where they were. I was told no and to take my seat.
At this point in time, my heart began to race, thinking we would miss our flight and I would be stuck in the Atlanta airport with Jackson for who knows how long until there was another flight to Baltimore.
The female TSA agent stood in front of me while I sat with Jackson and she continued to watch luggage come through the conveyor belt.
“Ma’am, can someone please just search me so we can be on our way? We are going to miss our flight,” I said.
The female agent then called an older gentleman, also a TSA agent over. The male TSA agent stood in front of me and said “I’m going to have to pat down your son.”
With Jackson still sitting in my lap (he was being so good despite all of this chaos) I said ok and continued to hold on to my son, expecting the male TSA agent to start touching Jackson.
He then told me, “I’m going to have to pick him up to inspect him.”
I rolled my eyes and sternly told him “It’s his pacifier clip that went off, can’t you just run that back through the belt and let us go. We are going to miss our flight.”
The female TSA agent, who had been standing there the entire time said to me, “You need to adjust your attitude and do as you are told.”
The male TSA agent repeated, “I’m going to have to pick him up to inspect him.”
I handed him my son.
I handed him my son and he walked away with my child.
My eyes welled up with tears, I stood up from my chair and I asked the female TSA agent, “Where is he going? Where is he taking my child? Why is he leaving?”
Jackson, while being whisked away looked at the male TSA agent awkwardly and repeated “no no no no.”
I started crying.

1. You don’t know me. You don’t know if I am an “asshole”. Calling me an “asshole” is a personal attack. It is silly. It is petty. Calling me an asshole is the last resort of someone who is angry but can’t create a coherent thought. That is DU stuff.
2. You are speaking as though the last 30 years of politics didn’t happen. This is not a vacuum. Do you remember the Willie Horton Ad? Conservatives are seen as “tough on crime. Liberals are seen as “soft on crime”. Conservatives have long questioned the 4th amendment and thought that “fruit of the poisoned tree theory” was a trick perpetuated by the ACLU. Conservatives have long pushed for and funded more law enforcement capability both Federal and local. That’s just what it is.
3. William F Buckley spent his years trying to purge the conservative movement of the John Birch society, and other nasty brands of racists. While I am not comparing Birchers and racists to Law and Order conservatives I believe that too many conservatives are accepting and supporting of strong local governments with wide ranging powers and the guns to back it up.
4. Who is the audience here? Is FreeRepublic full of liberals to argue with? NO! The audience here is/are conservatives. We struggle here to define conservatism. So do I need to spend my time attacking liberals? Nope, they aren’t here, and don’t read FreeRepublic.
5. In order to define what and where we want conservatism to be, and move, we have to look where it has been. Bill Clinton triangulated, and got a whole bunch of conservatives to vote for him with his 100,000 new cops on the street initiative. Why do you think he did that? Did he do that to move left? No, he did that to move right and capture conservatives. It worked. Why? Because many conservatives have an affinity to law enforcement.
6. I believe that government should be very small. It should exist in the narrowly enumerated powers as put forth in the Constitution. The States are where the real battle is because the Constitution does not limit the power of the States as much as the power of the Federal Government. Therefore, it has long been a point of contention as to how much law enforcement we want at the State level. So it’s an ongoing, argument. A 100 year old argument.
FINALLY AND MOST IMPORTANTLY:
Conservatives did build TSA. Or at least some conservatives did. If you don’t like the TSA, you should join me in trying to drive out Conservatives that did build the TSA. But you are fevered and not seeing that I am trying to purge conservatism of people who would build the TSA. GET IT?
There is an easy solution to that. Refuse to fly. When the terminals are empty, they will get the message. If you show up at that point then you have approved it.
It is illegal to take pictures of them. It is illegal to refuse. It is illegal to turn around and leave...........whoaaa, folks,,,,is anyone getting the picture here? What is wrong with this picture?
We don't profile because we may offend someone, however, somehow it is ok to subject our children, cancer survivors, nuns.......the elderly. Tears.
This is a part of the reconditioning of the "masses "..Each step more invasive than the next.
This father has taught his son to allow the government to do what ever it likes with his body, by standing and watching he has also set him up to be sexually abused.
Think about this.. the WARNINGS on radiation was primarily for children, so what parent wants to risk their child's health? So we march them to the Gestapo that strip search them..our non reaction indicates to the child that the government has a right to do this..
As for Hannity.. he has always been a hypocrite..this is nothing new . He has then means to avoid commercial air travel ...but he too will bow to the government ...

You don’t seem to understand that this is a conservative forum. Liberals don’t read FreeRepublic. Conservatives read FreeRepublic. Therefore the audience here is conservatives.
When I write to you Rurgan I try to keep it simple and use small words and short sentences.
1. TSA Bad. We should purge from conservatism those that would create TSA.
2. FreeRepublic is read by Conservatives.
3. The Democrats are in power now but TSA was created when Republicans were in power.
4. Don’t empower government with “your guys” and then be surprised when the other side uses what you created against you.
So I can’t think of a simpler way to say this so you can understand me. I am sure you will throw another had grenade at me supporting what I am advocating. But you won’t understand that your arguments are inline with mine at all. Because you are frankly too busy talking to even understand what you are reading.

I’m afraid that I feel the same way. I don’t suffer fools easily.
The problem is that Obama wins either way. I really think that he plans to virtually eliminate 4th Amendment rights as a prelude to ending gun rights. He’s turning the TSA into his domestice Army/police force. He has always had plans for a domestic army and this is his way of creating one without having to go through the legislature. He is essentially do an end around on the whole constitution.
Thank goodness that the guy that got arrested in San Diego for stripping down to underwear rather than go through the pat down/feel up is the same guy who previously won a law suit against the city of San Diego for an unlawful arrest for open carry. We need to thank this man and send him messages of support.

Where I live we have cops that flood busy intersections. This is called a “saturation patrol.” It involves 15-20 cops going to a busy intersection, stand on the islands of the intersections with flashlights and shine them inside your car while you are stopped. They are looking for expired plates, cracked taillights, seat belt use, improper left turns, improper right turns, anything they can get you on. They will literally line up cars they pull over and site ten to twenty at a time.
So the corollary to TSA is that checkpoints and highly visible LEO presence is just becoming a part of life. The corollary is that TSA’s argument is that when you buy an airline ticket you have agreed to being searched, and the fourth amendment no longer applies. I live in a State with Implied consent. That means that when you accept a drivers license you have also accepted that you and your vehicle can be searched.
So who built this? Law and Order conservatives keep voting to fund police departments, sheriff departments, judges, District Attorneys. So if they fund it. I’m no rocket scientist, but I can only assume conservatives support this stuff.

What good would a ceramic knife do? There are already a myriad of items on board aircraft which could be used as weapons. Nobody is going to hijack another plane with boxcutters. They may injure or kill some passengers but will not take over the plane. Thats been proven on many incidents involving would be terrorists and nutso people.
No, the only real danger is someone getting a bomb on board big enough to bring down a plane.
Just how many terrorists has the TSA stopped in the last 9 years? Should be easy to name at least one terrorist with all the abuse and loss of rights being justified.
Oh they’ve stopped a few people who forgot knives in their carryons. But no terrorists.
For goodness sake they are not even searching all of the cargo they put in these planes on a daily basis. They are allowing boxes from terror connected countries to be loaded on airplanes without even a cursory search.
I'm would have ended up in jail if some puke TSA agent said that to me.
That being said, this story seems to be a little fishy to me, a little too well written and dramatic.
But maybe it is true, I dunno.
If it is, the TSA agent who took her son needs to be arrested and prosecuted for kidnapping, NOW.
