A handful of Republican lawmakers is warning against Congress approving a massive discrimination settlement that passed the Senate last week despite concerns the claims process may have been marred by thousands of potentially fraudulent applications.

Just before breaking for Thanksgiving recess, the Senate approved by voice vote a $4.6 billion package to settle claims against the government by black farmers and American Indians. The payments to black farmers account for $1.2 billion of that amount but have been the subject of intense criticism.

Lawmakers raising alarm about the payments say whistleblowers from the Department of Agriculture have come to them in confidence to warn that the money is going to claimants who don't deserve it.

Just another pretext for more back door reparations .

If the country somehow does survive the Obama Residency we will inherit a bloated (more than usual) federal bureaucracy staffed with Affirmative Action appointees and other moochers, racists and communists. These people believe its is their job to bring about wealth redistribution using every imaginable pretext.

It would take years of concentrated effort by a determined and fair minded administration to clean out these lurkers and I don’t see that actually happening.

It is a reparations bill like healthcare. Just a kickback to Obama’s supporters.

If anyone has a black dog, apply. If the dog is approved the fraud in the program becomes apparent to everyone.

This is the SECOND go ‘round for the black farmers. The USDA already paid the first group and these are the “farmers” who realized they missed out on easy money after the first group got theirs. Fraud is an understatment.
