Palin rebukes Barbara Bush, family as 'blue bloods' after remark

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) denounced the Bush family as "blue bloods" in an interview posted Wednesday and remarked that a mentality like theirs helped to cause the economic downturn.

Her comment came in response to a statement made by former first lady Barbara Bush during an interview with CNN's Larry King earlier this week. Asked for her take on Palin, Bush told King: "I think she's very happy in Alaska, and I hope she'll stay there."

Conservative radio host Laura Ingraham followed up with Palin, asking if she thought Bush's comment had been planned ahead of time. Palin had this to say:

She reinforced my high opinion of her. I like people who don’t take guff from their supposed “betters”. Thanks Governor Palin for being exactly who you are!

Sarah drawing her line in the sand!

As usual, what you see is what you get. Expose the blue bloods right here, right now and let the chips fall where they may.

As she said in episode two of Sarah Palin's Alaska, racing her kayak with Todd, "Screw finess. I want to WIN!"

Seems to me if Palin wants to be Prez one day she needs some thicker skin. No need to respond to every thing said about her. That's one of the things I liked about GWB. And the things said about him were just as bad, if not worse, than what's said about Palin.

I think Sarah Palin has a pretty fair idea about how to campaign and probably will respond to anyone especially a big mouth like Babs!

Then she shouldn't do the same thing Barbara Bush did. Mrs. Bush did the "I sat next to Sarah Palin. She's a lovely person but...." Palin then goes "I have nothing but respect for the Bush's but...." She might as well get used to the fact that the mainline Republicans will do whatever they can to keep her from advancing in the party. Instead of responding the best revenge for her would be to ignore them as irrelevant and prove them wrong.

“I think she’s very happy in Alaska, and I hope she’ll stay there.”

Why would she be offended by that? Bush is wishing her happiness.

I wish the Bushes everything they deserve.

I’d love to see the ruling class waste their campaign cash on such lame ads. The majority of the voters will see those ads, and ask, “What does this have to do with me and my life?”

That’s not a good move on Sarah Palin’s part. She should have just let it go or made a mild dismissive comment and then set it aside. Barbara Bush shouldn’t have said what she said to begin with, but fanning the flames to make something trivial regrab the headlines yet again is not smart. Plus, Barbara Bush is not dimwitted and if this turns into an ongoing feud then it could get nasty...and we don’t need to be infighting going into 2011 (some key states having their elections) and 2012.

Does the Bush family really think Jeb has a hope in Hell in 2012?

Rumor is 2016. This may be why they are promoting Romney, who is quite likely to lose a hypothetical run against Hillary.

Clintons and Bushes sitting in a tree . . .

Lighten up Sarah.

She has to stop responding to every-damn-thing.

This is why I love Free Republic....everyone’s thoughts.
That’s like me saying to you “He has to stop responding to
every damn thing”. We all say what we say because it’s who
we are.

NO ONE supported Bush any more than I did... those of you that know me know this is the case. Sarah is correct... the Bush family is part of the elite, blue-blood, country club, limo riding, liberal wing of the republican party. They always have been. GW was better than his father but anyone that is honest can look at his second term and see his liberalism clearly.

Sarah is correct and she should call them on it every single time that they open their liberal mouths. Barbara Bush will not say one single thing bad about bill clinton but she rebukes Sarah Palin in a national interview, at the first chance that she is ever given. Screw the Bush family... they screwed us over for long enough!

She also could have said that “It’s amazing that they don’t have a bad word to say against the communist in the white house that is destroying the county, but I’m fair game as far as the Bush’s are concerned.”

Or she could have responded to Mrs Bush's snark bu reminding her that hundreds of candidates asked her to campaign for them while The blue bloods were stuck in New England once again running moderates and losing races.

PS: I generally like the Bush family but my first rule in life has always been never to turn the other cheek because you just get smacked again.

You have a higher opinion of the “majority of voters” than I have. They voted for 0bama last time around.

How in the world is one woman’s opinion on who she supports for President interpreted as her “daring to demand that the rest of us fall in line”?

I do not get the defensiveness here. When you say you support so-and-so for President, are you daring to demand that your listeners fall into line? Or are you simply stating your opinion, perhaps hoping to influence or persuade people, but fully understanding many will disagree with you?

It seems so ridiculous to think that Barbara Bush or Sarah Palin or anyone else is “telling” [i.e., ordering] me who to vote for President, and that I’d better “fall into line” or else.

Please. People express their opinions. So what. That is all.

I don’t feel the need to feel so put upon just because someone, regardless of who it is, states their preference for next President of the United States.

Just sayin’.

Never thought she should run, never thought she will run, and always thought she shouldn’t run. I am not blinded by all things SP. I like her as a voice, but thats about it. She is not in public office, so she should respond. Thats all Im saying. :)

But it looks as though a lot of “little people” actually voted for Murkowski, doesn’t it?

In public? In front of media? This is how this Colonel speaks? Even more so when speaking about a former First Lady of the United States? I doubt that very much. With that said, I've known a Colonel (or three or four) that weren't worth sh*t and nothing but REMF’s.

Then what is all that voting business about? You mean to tell me that in presidential elections we are voting simply to affirm a man's "right" to "rule"? That he could somehow ascend to the throne even if we didn't vote for him?

Have you tried to run? There is a political "class"" in this country.. that have access to the press, media and the funds that pretty much reduce our selection to the choices of the political classes in both parties..

Sorry... you have Sarah confused with GW and his rovian refusal to ever respond to any political attacks... and we see what that did to him and what it led to in this Country. No more... they hit us with a stick... we hit them with a baseball bat... they hit us with a bat... we fire back with artillery and so on. No more!

I hope the rest of the elitists think just like you. All the better because they won’t be expecting what is going to happen.

So they want to marginalize Palin, DeMint and all the other real conservatives it seems. Well I’d suggest it is time to choose which side you’re on because “We the people” will be deciding this next election, not the blue bloods, RINOs, elitists, and other array of socialists and their sympathizers.

Any TEA party people who choose to join the other side, will find their stay in office very short.

The Bush Family is a family of “Blue Bloods” also they have “Skull and Bones” NWO RINO establishment that we need to clear out of our party or at the very least take the party’s reins out of their hands.
