Palin's reckless views on obesity (*BARF ALERT*)
CNN ^ | 11/24/2010 | Roland Martin

Posted on 11/24/2010 7:05:56 PM PST by markomalley

It's clear that we can't go 24 hours without Sarah Palin saying something so stupid that it defies logic, but leave it to the Kim Kardashian of politics to find something wrong with first lady Michelle Obama's effort to curb obesity in America's kids.

In a radio interview on Wednesday with conservative talker Laura Ingraham, Palin took dead aim at the first lady's "Let's Move" initiative, which is all about getting children active and involved in exercise and healthy eating.

In the wacky world of Wasilla's finest, Palin tries to cast the effort to fight obesity as part of Michelle Obama's "different worldview."

Here is a portion of the transcript from HuffingtonPost.com: "Take her anti-obesity thing that she is on. She is on this kick, right. What she is telling us is she cannot trust parents to make decisions for their own children, for their own families in what we should eat.

"And I know I'm going to be again criticized for bringing this up, but instead of a government thinking that they need to take over and make decisions for us according to some politician or politician's wife priorities, just leave us alone, get off our back and allow us as individuals to exercise our own God-given rights to make our own decisions and then our country gets back on the right track."

Hmmm. "Let's Move" is Obama's "kick?" Maybe someone should kick Sarah Palin so she can understand how devastating obesity is to the future of the United States.

Again we see the petty fascism of the Left. They resort so easily to violent imagery when speaking of Sarah Palin. They literally can't help themselves.

Fight obesity and world hunger: Feed the obese to the starving.

Well said, Sarah! She tells it like it is.

Obesity is nothing when compared to abortion, which is literally killing our future.

Where most of Sarah’s detractors try to pick her apart on something small, such as her simple toungue-typo of referring to N. Korea as an ally, I give kudos to roland for trying to attack Sarah on her effective denunciation of michelle obama’s obesity campaign. This is attacking Sarah on her strength, which is tactic worthy of respect. However, fortunately for us, roland is unable to do any damage at all, so Sarah’s arguments still stand.

I’m purposing this day to do whatever I can to help destroy the mainstream media. I’m dead serious!

We should all be thinking of things we can do to help destroy the livelihood of these tyrants! The media is as much an enemy of this country as Barak Obama!

The whole obesity thing is the result of media barrage about no meat, no fat, no cholesterol - eat vegetarian crap full of carbos and don’t play games, cuz you get hurt and get sued.

Now Moooochelllee is “fixing” what we are allowed to eat using her aaaaass as example???

Go Saraaaaah!

Hey, Roland, you had better hope and pray that Bitchelle never gets her way. You see, the American people have only so much patience with know-it-all, do-gooder statists. If you start telling the people of this country what to eat and what we cannot eat, obesity will be the least of this country’s health problems. Far larger will be the self-inflicted, government-created health problem of instantaneous airborne lead poisoning.

Statist @$$wipe.

you got that one dead on, FrankR.

Particularly this line...

“The people who harp on him are usually the ones who make him drink in the first place.”

This has been so true in my little life...

Obesity is nothing when compared to abortion, which is literally killing our future.

True words. It is certainly not obesity that is devastating this country.

What?! The government wants to tell us what to eat! Let’s not go down that slippery slope, because you never know where it will end. The next thing you know they’ll be wanting to touch everyone’s private parts just to let us get on an airplane...

...oh, wait...

...NEVERMIND!

Hey Roland, NO ONE is forcing fat asses to put cheeseburgers into their mouth..they CHOOSE to do so. If they want to eat fatty foods, its their right to do so. It’s their bodies. Progressives want to tell other people what to do with their bodies. They should mind their own damn business and take care of their own selves

Yeah, the problem with the whole eating healthy thing is there is a great deal of disagreement on just what exactly is healthy and what really causes obesity. But that doesn’t stop the food nazis who would have us all eating tofu, being miserable, not terribly healthy and starving in the process.

In the computer age, a major problem for many young and adults too is the lack of exercise. I remember flying into Chicago on a beautiful summer day. The approach to O’Hare took us over a number of the city’s parks. All the baseball diamonds and tennis courts were empty.
