How is our bandwithh capacity doing? Will our DSL/Cable internet soon slow to a crawl from 6:00 to 11:00 pm?

Yes...

expect that your cable/telco ISP rates will start to spike if they have to stream huge files to your home since the network is not configured to handle those types of sustained downloads

About eight years ago there was all sorts of concern about the oversupply of dark fiber (broadband capacity).

Liberals like to use such conditions to argue that business investment should be discouraged during economic downturns. People like me argue that investment should be encouraged at all times because businesses will find ways to use that oversupply rather than add to it.

Well, if only "streaming" is allowed, probably. But "streaming" has never made any sense at all to me. Set up things so their customers can actually automatically DOWNLOAD the movies they want to see. If "copyright" issues crop up, make it so that you have to download FROM NETFLIX a "Netflix only" media player and encrypt the transmitted movies. Encryption key technology is surely sufficient these days to allow such an approach.

Last night, for the second time since I signed up with Netflix, I decided to watch a movie on my computer. The 2-hour movie stopped five times to re-buffer itself. The Netflix pop-up message said that my internet connection had slowed and Netflix was adjusting its delivery rate to make sure there are no further interruptions.

I watched my first downloaded movie back in May or so, when I first signed up and there was no interruption. I don't know if that answers your question but it's what happened.
