Any strike by US Forces on the NORKS would ascertain the destruction of Seoul and 1/2 of South Korea.

In the end, US and SK would prevail, but the slaughter would be WWII-like.

Only nukes can neutralize the NORKS...a sudden strike in the Capital, all major bases and every 2-3 miles along the DMZ with "small, tactical" nukes.

There are AT LEAST 10,000 MRLS tubes pointed at Seoul with another 5,000 Howitzers...all within range. The damage would be nuke-equivalent...and they could shoot the whole wad in less than an hour and without any tactical or strategic movement of forces.

That said, PERHAPS a non-nuke EMP attack would take out the MRLS systems and most/all their CCC capability along the DMZ. We probably also know where the bulk of their nuke weapons are...assuming they actually have any that won't "fizzle".

Ultimately, this question has to be answered:

Does the "civilized world" have the will to kill 10-20million people to prevent a similar toll of their own?

This is just another shakedown by NK. SK will quietly wire a few billion to NK.

Business between SK and China is too good to let Nk screw anything up. This is also designed to make the US look weak in Asia. Thank the idiots who voted for Hussein and the idiots who watch TV because ALL of TV enables Hussein and keeps him in power.

You provided a perfect layout of why this is all bluster.

Seoul would be removed as an operational city with the deaths of millions within a single day. At that point this would be no-holds barred war and China isn’t going to stand on the sidelines and watch while their client in the north is removed.

The North has killed many people but not nearly enough to warrant this level of risk. Nations will just have to tolerate them for now I’m afraid.

At some point, the rest of the capitalist free world will grow tired of China’s Frankenstein and hold them responsible. Maybe getting economic sanctions pointed China’s direction would be a better root cause solution.

That is a gross overestimate of NK’s ability to damage Seoul. It’s 40km+ from the DMZ to Seoul proper and VERY few artillery and missile systems have that kind of range.

Every prepared firing point for weapons of that caliber are well known and won’t last long under the weight of RoK/US counterbattery fire. Anyone who thinks NK is going have the ability to reposition it’s batteries once that starts is dead wrong.

North Korea’s “obliteration” of Seoul in the first hours of a full scale war is a urban legend that gets bigger every time it’s retold.

Have been thinking about this NORK artillery within range of Seoul...wonder what kind of counter-battery capability the South Koreans have...obviously they are aware of this threat.
