Thank you for your reply. Not being military, let me see if I get the whole picture.

The 251D has been stripped of necessary defense elements?

We would have to reactivate the National Guard to have enough troops to make a difference? In my mind, that is as dangerous as no response at all. At least to the troops.

So I wonder...worst case scenario...would the current ROE that are in effect in Afghanistan apply to another military action?

The 25ID is home of our Stryker Brigades. We first stripped them away in 2004, weakening our Rapid Response force considerably.

And, yes, any additional military action anywhere in the world would fully exhaust our capabilities....something Chavez, Castro et al known very well.
