I can understand this even so I have a toddler. His first flight was last month and he screamed the entire time. I felt awful for the other passengers.

I’d rather have a liberal free flight.

Bring on the children.

Basically, with the current “naked pics or grope” approach of the TSA, they will have child-free flights pretty soon, anyway.

My kids had their moments when they were little, but they were generally excellent travelers.

I'd rather have a flight free of idiotic adults who:

  1. Constantly get up and force those in the seats in their path to do likewise.
  2. Grab window seats and keep the shades pulled for the duration of the flight or, conversely, keep the shades up even when the setting sun or rising sun is clearly annoying their fellow passengers.
  3. Refuse to buy two seats or move over, even when their fat ass is hanging over into yours.
  4. Have to have their seat all the way down into your lap for the entire duration of the flight, even when they aren't asleep.

Most kids eventually give up on making a nuisance of themselves. The above examples of adults (and more) do not.

I got stuck sitting next to two kids with ADHD, as their parents chose to sit in a different row. I would much rather sit next to two little hyper brats than the somebody that spills over the boundaries of their seat.

Save me a spot in the kids section, they are better behaved than the average adult.

I have no problem with a person wanting a “Child free flight”.
Let them pay extra for it.

Take a family flight, pay the regular price.
Take a “child free” flight, pay premium for the privilege.

I remember my first flight with my now 8 year old when she was about 2. I had her in a car seat strapped to the airline seat. Her little legs stuck straight out (not long enough to bend). So her feet were pushing into the seat in front of her, which, of course, was in full recline. The lady in the seat in front of her scolded me the entire flight that my daughter was bothering her. Many folks forget what it’s like to have young children.

Free drinks and smoking used to work just fine to keep the little heathens at bay ☺

There is something wrong with a society that does not like to be around kids.

Years ago my Mother told me she was at a neighborhood ladies’ coffee party and one retired schoolteacher was complaining about taxes, and that she should not have to pay for taxes for schools since she had no children of her own. My Mother who was extraordinarally wise, was irate at the hypocracy of a person whose lifelong job was in education making such a statement.

It sounds a lot like the adults who lived in the Neuschwanstein castle in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

In the last few years I've taken several 14-16 hour long flights...the most recent just 10 days ago.On all but one of them the screeching of 50 different 12-month-olds just about drove me crazy (I was in cattle class for each one).I'd be all for kid-free flights.

It seems like a fair exchange till one of them screams in you ear “It’s not fair!!!!”

Typical nonsense from the self-obsessed abortion culture.

With the pitch of seats today I hardly ever recline my seat. It has gotten to the point where you can't even get a laptop on the tray table.

I will also never ever, ever never, never ever fly on a red eye that connects through Vegas. That was the weirdest flight I've ever been on.

Our school district exempts people over 65 from paying school taxes on homesteads.

A more reasonable approach would be to have a designated family section for travelers with children, much as there once was a designated smokers section when smoking was still permitted on commercial domestic flights.

Put the kids in the back where they can irritate each other and be close to the restrooms.

There's some justification for higher costs, for adults-only flights. Children tend to weigh less than adults — therefore, an adult-only flight would probably have less capacity for freight, or have to burn more fuel.
