As much as I can’t stand Obama, I think this accusation is a little over the top. One, the Coast Guard was not there, and two, when others slip up and not mention the Coast Guard we don’t treat it like a mortal sin. Like in this Great! Gene Simmons tribute to the Military, that we were all on here a few weeks ago going crazy about. Nobody mentioned he didn’t mention the Coast Guard.

I understand your point, but our Nation's Finest does not put their lives on the line on military orders from Gene Simmons. He's an entertainer, whom I appreciate his dedication of time to our servicemen & women.
tHE oNE is supposed to set the highest example. His casual, if not privately-hostile, attitude towards our military is insulting. He deliberately set the bar on himself too high, therefore IMHO only, he's fair game for ANY criticism when it comes to how he treats our military.
A handful of Coasties are located at Bagram Air Field. They are part of a Coast Guard Redeployment Assistance and Inspection Detachment (RAID) Team out of Kuwait. Their purpose is to facilitate the containerized redeployment of DOD material back to the United States.
I have a sneaking suspicion that Gene Simmons has never said anything like that about our troops.
President Bush wouldn’t have forgotten and if he had it would be all over the network news.
Like someone said earlier, the Coast Guard is probably happy he doesn’t know them. Besides, Obama said “every branch of the service”, unless you think the GC is not a service.
Gene Simmons is not Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces!
