Newt Gingrich: ‘We are not going to deport 11 million people’
www.ajc.com ^ | 12/3/2010 | Jim Galloway

Posted on 12/04/2010 6:46:15 AM PST by Bulldawg Fan

Former U.S. House speaker Newt Gingrich appears intent on keeping high-flying Republicans grounded in reality. From Politico.com:

Former U.S. House speaker Newt Gingrich “We are not going to deport 11 million people,” Gingrich said Thursday as he kicked off his first forum on Latino issues. “There has to be some zone between deportation and amnesty.”

A possible presidential candidate, Gingrich stressed that his target of establishing an entirely legal work force is “not a call for amnesty.” Rather, he said, it’s about applying common sense to the immigration debacle.

“Dos y dos son cuatro” (two plus two equals four), he said to chuckles.

Gingrich’s comments came as he and other GOP leaders seek to step up their outreach to Latino voters, the fastest-growing constituency in the country and one Republicans have struggled to win in recent elections. Gingrich is billing his first conference — sponsored by The Americano, a bilingual website he launched last year to attract more Latinos to the Republican Party — as a step toward bringing conservative innovation to issues that affect Latinos.

“Cut off the jobs and free bennies and they’ll go voluntarily.”

Just cutting the free benefits — medical, schooling, and anchor babies — would probably be enough. The money they’d make at any jobs wouldn’t be enough to pay for medical treatment here. They’d have to go home where extended families would provide that kind of support.

A little off point, but when we lived in California and would drive by the pools of illegal day workers, every single one of them had a cell phone. Ditto for the illegals riding their bikes around town chatting on cells. Someone said the cells were provided by the state. I don’t know if that’s true but, if it is, discontinue that benefit ASAP.

“We (the little mouse in my pocket and I, Lizard Gingrich) are not going to deport ...”

By `we’ he means the US Chamber of Communists, the Wall Street Urinal, the Beltway Gang of Running Dog RINOS & the Weakly Standard, every member of the Boosh clan, past, present and future, 4-legged congress critters, every GOldeP candidate, every other conservative in California, `The Race’ AND
the little mouse in his pocket.
`We’ does not contemplate the American taxpayers.

The count of illegals inside our borders keeps dropping with every statement from our “leaders’. It is disgusting. More are born each year than even the DROPPING number quoted. How many MS-13 members alone are estimated to be in this country? The creep who killed Chandra Levy was a member of MS-13. Did ABC or any of the others tell us that nugget of information??? NO- Never!
MS-13 is considered one of the most violent gangs in the world. They have invaded & infiltrated every state in the country.

I contend that the number is far closer to 50 million +++.

The number of 20 million was common & continous during the 70’s. The number of invaders hasn’t slowed down at all, nor has their birth rate & it is folly to even consider a number of 11 million.

Note to Newt:

Pay attention, big guy:

YES, WE CAN deport all of the illegals!!
And we MUST do so!!

FDR—Truman & Eisenhower did just that—& many more—in a time when they were not nearly so prevelant!!

go to www,freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2636779/posts & read some of the most cogent thoughts on the problems with the illegals.

Newt- you need to aquaint yourself with the real problems with illegals. Go spend some serious time with Sheriff Joe Arpaio. LEARN SOMETHING!! Spend serious time with Governor Jan Brewer!! See this problem where it exists!! UP close!! Otherwise you & all the others are just full of crap!

Quit acting like ‘flyover country’ doesn’t count—that ONLY the elite EAST coast of the USA counts for something!! Learn that the illegal problem is firmly imbedded in ‘flyover country’. We are sick of it!!!

The idea that letting them be in this country with some sort of ‘legal status’ is a joke.

They will NOT be paying taxes.

They are uneducated.

They do not speak English.

IF they can legally work- what skills do they hold? something worth $8 to $10 an hour???? Doing what????

Take a ‘married couple’ & add 4 or 5 kids (or more) and without even listing itemized deductions, the 5-7 exemptions will swallow up the ‘INCOME TAXES’ the Dems keep referring to. Only Social Security & Medicare taxes will mandatory be deducted.-——That is if you can get employers to even put them on payroll.

Make them legal & you have removed the penalty for hiring an illegal, so employers have no incentive to put them on payroll.

Say you are a roofing company in California. Workmen’s Comensation Insurance is about 110% of Gross payroll. So—if I need a crew of 20 to keep going, & I pay a man who has very minimum skills & no language skills to hot mop or move materials $10 per hour for a full year of employment- 2080 hours, I will pay him a gross of $20,800.00

The Workmen’s Comp Ins bill just for that man will be $22,880.00-—just for one person!! The gross payroll ++the workmen’s comp comes to $43,680.00. Now add in employer’s share of SS & Medicare= 7.65%, Calif state unemployment ins of 5.4% and Fed unemployment ins of .80 % and you must add another 13.85% to that man’s costs to you in your business.

Now you have a total of $46,560.80 invested in that employee-—who doesn’t speak English & entered this country with no or minimal skills. You don’t even know if he is a criminal—there are no background checks for illegals & Mexico & other southern countries don’t co-operate with getting that information. What chances do you want to take?? Will NObama ORDER all employers to take those chances???

If you have 20 guys on this payroll at $10 per hour, that == $939,616.00 before you pay for any materials—trucks—equipment-office staff-rent-insurance-gasoline-advertising-and a little something for YOU, the OWNER who has his whole life invested into this company!!!

You tell me, Newt: How fast do you have to make the decision to pay this guy $8 or $9 under the table in CASH & keep on trying to keep the doors open? Only call him in to work when there is enough to do??

It is a lie & a scam on those of us who are still or have paid income taxes all of our lives.

I am single & I don’t even have to file the tax forms if I make less than $25,000—the threshhold for a married couple is even higher.

$10 per hour times 2080 hours, puts a gross income at the level of less than $21,000.

These illegals who are married won’t even have to file a return-—no matter if they have kids or NOT!!!

Either the Congress is totally lying to us or they are totally ignorant as to the income tax laws & threshholds for even filing. Since the actual Secretary of the Treasury currently is so ignorant of the laws, I might give you a pass on that question, Newt. But not really—you always seemed much smarter, Newt.

You are eliminating any chance for yourself to have ANY position in the coming Republican administration, Newt. Look over your shoulder—the truth is catching up with you very quickly. Either admit you don’t know what you are talking about, or get out of the way.

At least Sarah Palin has run a company & seen the cost of doing so.

While your vaulted position for years might put you above having to do the opening of envelopes & the paying of bills—it is time you got a look at what happens inside the trenches of every USA business every single day of the year.

I have done accounting & bookkeeping since I was 17. I am now 71. I have worked for years with Mom & Pop businesses as clients. I have seen those gut-wrenching decisions up close.

Ignorance is no excuse. Get yourself educated!!

11 Million would be a good start

I was hoping he would run in ‘08.

I'm not sure his positions are relevant for purposes of a presidential run, because realistically, his personal life disqualifies him. I just cant see the GOP base choosing a guy on his third wife.

They will deport themselves if people stop hiring them and cut off all the benefits they receive from state and federal governments.

Yep, absolutely. I would also like to add heavy fines. Not only for those who hire, but also the illegals themselves. Take whatever they own if they are discovered to be here illegally. Their fine needs to be so heavy and so destructive to their lives that they will not be able to afford to stay and can't risk getting caught if they try. Also cut off the anchor baby mentality.

” They will deport themselves if people stop hiring them and cut off all the benefits they receive from state and federal governments.”

It only took seven comments for the obvious to be stated. Too bad the politicians refuse to admit the solution. Could it be they are lobbied by those benefitting from illegal workers?

Newt is so self oriented that he just does not relate to the American people. Never going to be President.

Close the borders and start deporting people. Sooner or later you will get to 11 million.

As an aside, the job market will improve and the burden on hospitals, welfare etc. will drop.

Gingrich is the worst of the worst of the GOP when it comes to immigration. Everyone on FR should know it by now. He’s joined at the hip with Grover Norquist...Bush’s amnesty author. In 1998 he joined the Georgia delegation in a letter to Clinton to stop workplace enforcement (big campaign contributions!)of illegal aliens. He pinned a letter to the WSJ with other open border pushers (Jacoby, Steve Moore, Cesar Conda, Norquist) pushing Bush/McCain amnesty.

And that’s just about immigration...he is just as bad on other issues. If you’re happy with the squishy middle liberalism, Newt is your man.

I'll tell you the truth.

It looks like our bad economy has slowed them down or they have run out of population willing to come.

With 24-7 news and even FOX being pro some sort of amnesty it would be tough to go on full forced deportation like Ike could

I think our only options are complete enforcement, seal borders and create environment for self deportation and revisit automatic birth right

these will take serious political power to implement now

25 percent of the nation is minority and they vote 70-96% liberal and live for the day to strip what they perceive as the white power base and culture...which is most conservatism

and then you have maybe 35 percent of whites who feel just like they do

it's going to be hard and get harder every year unless conservative whites start having babies like I did and don't let them get educated by the revisionist education culture...we even have plenty of freepers like this...go to any southern thread and watch me get called nazi

it's this environment that makes it all so difficult

and if we lose...it's over...most we can hope for in my opinion is a squeak by slow win but at a high price and to end up with a culture unrecognizable from which I grew up with

many many freepers from homogeneous areas simply do not get it...probably won't till it's too late

hate to be a downer but my way of life is on the wane I fear..baring cataclysm I shudder to envision

I desire our nation return to a status where the Rule of Law is not given lip service by those who push aside the laws of our nation, each and every way, while stating they are supporting the Rule of Law. wardaddy, I have respected and looked forward to posts from you, and your wisdom has been shared with me, again. I shall continue to pray for your words of wisdom and truth to be made known to me via your posts.

This nation needs open and honest discussion of the problems surrounding us, of this I know you are one who realizes such. The debate, of this topic, has been nearly closed by those who no longer believe in the Rule of Law, it does appear, and whose goal is not the goal of an America where the Rule of Law applies Equally to All. Lady Justice looks as though the blindfold has been removed, by those who have stripped her and made her something less. This does not bode well for our continuing Freedom, and Justice for our citizens.

I will pray our nations' blind who approve of the stripping of Lady Justice with all my heart and soul that their eyes will be opened, and Lady Justice may place back her blindfold. Lady Justice used to be able to hear and could ascertain the truth as well. Now her ears have been punctured with the lies she hears so often.

I do not have truth each time I open my mouth. The law is clear on this situation with illegals, and the illegals activities, though. And there is no doubt laws have been broken. Those who would say, the law does not apply in this situation have to desire something less than the Rule of Law to protect those who have, without a doubt and no doubt remaining, broken our nation's laws. The Rule of Law was so crystal clear when I was young, now the Rule of Law is muddied by those who, imho, have no idea of the Laws' meaning and intent of to Serve, and Protect. These were laws made for our nation to serve our citizens with protection from harm. Those who decide the law means something different from its original intent, have not the best interests of our nation in mind during this time of war.

Exactly right, but Newt wants to make it seem impossible to be rid of all, or nearly all illegals, because he wants it to be impossible. He's a cheap labor lover and has pandered for the Hispanic vote from way back. As House Speaker he even promoted Puerto Rican statehood.

Nobody is calling for 11 million illegals to be deported.

We simply want the illegals who are caught to be deported. In other words, enforce the law.
