Heh-heh...see #76
Outside of RC models and an occassional helicopter, it was the only craft I ever saw use that runway at Floyd Bennett since the 50’s!
I did however see a 747 from some middle eastern airline (palm tree on vert. stab.) line up on that runway while on approach to JFK. Pilot had to make two quick, banked turns to get back on the path. Musta been a real pucker moment.
Spare parts are plentiful for this bird.
Well, it hasn't killed the shock jocks that like to fly over their parent's homes where I live. I've seen two F16s flying over side by side at under 1000', do a big circle and one will get over the 1000' mark. The second will come back at tree top level and shoot straight up about one mile from my house.
About three months ago, three C 130 aircraft were flying so low over Lake Travis, I couldn't see them until they had cleared the area where I can see across the lake.
Holy crap now THAT’s a flyover!
