That is just so sad. I read this earlier somewhere else. Can you imagine the horror of losing someone you love, then trying to get the body back home, etc? My prayers are with the victim’s family in Deutschland.

Yes, all sad. That said. . .am having a hard time, imagining anyone’s ‘comfort level’ in decision to snorkle/dive et al.. .in ANY area, where just prior, two other people encountered a ‘worst nightmare’ scenario.

Unusual for an Oceanic WT and Mako to be coming into shallow, snorkeling depth water. They are primarily pelagic (deep water)fish.
Oceanic WT are frequently seen in Hawaii, but only out in deep water, often following Pilot whale pods looking for scraps. Aggressive and curious fish unfortunately..........

Why on earth did they reopen the beaches so soon??Have you ever been to Egypt? It was Allah's will that the tourist died. Reopen the beach. If more tourists die it is because Allah wills it. No joke.

Some people believe what ever the people in charge tell them. It is a mind set that is fostered from birth in some countries, sadly it has been so in the USA now for about 40 years. Our kids are told to believe what ever the government tells them. I would imagine this woman and who ever else was out there swimming simply took the word of the people in charge that the sharks were all gone.

They probably didn’t even know about those previous shark attacks. Not all Germans are freepers! lol. Poor thing, eaten by a shark, ugh. Das ist nicht gut! sehr schrecklich!
Seriously, I feel so bad about that. Ugh, you’re in Egypt and then you have to find a way to get what’s left of Mutti back to the Fatherland. I’m going to have nightmares about this shark attack.

Yes, nightmare stuff and for me, not only invited by shark attacks; but tourist getting dragged down by crocodiles in Australia (since that were the pathetically gruesome tourist meets croc stories come from./sigh/
That said, have been to Australia and loved it (and did not go near a croc.) ;^)

Our kids are told to believe what ever the government tells them. I would imagine this woman and who ever else was out there swimming simply took the word of the people in charge that the sharks were all gone. It is sad. . .people 'do' believe; and tend not to question. One can find oneself - or lose oneself - simply because a sign was mis/displaced; or warning coulda/shoulda/woulda been there/.
We really must be 'self-reliant' and have the gifts of critical thinking. Certainly, a virtue that is NOT being taught/shared these days at least 'at large' in Liberal Land. . .
