They end the article with this line:
The question now emerging for climate scientists and policymakers alike is very simple. Just how long does a pause have to be before the thesis that the world is getting hotter because of human activity starts to collapse?
They are actually questioning global warming...
They COULD try a reverse on Global warming - global cooling, the next ice age is about to start, etc etc...but I think that might be too much of a U-turn even for the elites.
They might go for asteroid collisions - lots of "near misses" and "we are overdue for a hit", and "we could go the way of the dinosaurs" etc etc. The only problem with this is that it might encourage space exploration and research and all the technological spin offs that go along with that - and they want to keep us helpless, not hopeful.
Volcanoes? There's been a few articles recently about how the one under Yellowstone could take out the west coast and that other one in the Canaries could cause a tsunami that would wipe out the east coast.
How about something biological? Superbugs - resistant to all antibiotics. Or biological warfare threats? Or that perennial favorite - the loss of the rain forest - which seems to have been being reduced by 10% a year for nearly four decades now.
Any other takers? I think we should run a sweep myself, contributions to go to the Free Republic fund!
