Public pension war goes sexy in new video

We told you recently about a “hateful, vile” video where the union boss is portrayed as an out-of-control Hitler, essentially calling for the blood of taxpayers if that’s what it takes to finance his big fat pension.

“L’Aristocracy de CalPERS” mines the same ground — “Thousands of retired government employees are getting pensions of over $100,000 per year, and us taxpayers have to pay for them,” the filmmakers say — but it does so with a good bit more humor, and a good bit less “vileness,” if you will.

Using luscious, lavish, lascivious scenes from “Dangerous Liaisons” (the story of “rich and bored aristocrats in Rococo France playing high-stakes games of passion and betrayal”) to hilarious effect, it opens as John Malkovich’s gleaming horse-drawn carriage approaches a castle. As the dashing Malkovich jumps out and scales the palace steps, these words appear: “Vice President Field Supervision, Level 3, Field Operations Group, Water Resources Division, Metropolitan Water District of Southern California.”

And then: “Retired.”

California’s pension system – the largest in the nation – is some $59.5 billion shy of what it has promised to pay, and that may be the good news, according to the Pew Center on the States. The health benefits that California has guaranteed its retirees? That’s almost completely unfunded – a $62. 5 billion problem.

The fact check here is that MWD actually has one of the lowest pension formulas in the state (which tells you a good bit about the problem everywhere) and that only a tiny fraction of state retirees — about 1.6 percent — earn more than $100,000 a year. Many of those in the $100,000 club were public safety officers — which makes reform plans that exempt them potentially off the mark.

Ideally Obama would like to BAN 401K’s and any kind of private pension. It's all part of evening out the financial playing field - even in your retirement. Besides, like Social Security and the “lockbox” label ... (LOL) forced government only retirement funds would give Obama MORE MONEY to SPEND - especially since the “lockbox” Social Security fund is bankrupt. I know, they don't want to talk about SS being bankrupt. That would spoil the shock that government will fail you every time.

If we don’t get rid of these unions they are going to destroy this country worse than they already have.
