Press Releases Contact: Brendan Daly/Nadeam Elshami Drew Hammill/202-226-7616 For Immediate Release 12/07/2010 Pelosi Statement on President Obama’s Tax Proposal

Washington, D.C. — Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued the following statement today on President Obama’s tax proposal:

“The tax proposal announced by the President clearly presents the differences between Democrats and Republicans. Any provision must be judged by two criteria: does it create jobs to grow our economy and does it add to the deficit?

“The Democratic provisions will create jobs and help 155 million workers through tax cuts for the middle class, helping working families who are struggling and growing the economy.

“The Republican demands would provide tax cuts to the millionaires and billionaires, fail to create jobs and increase the deficit. And to add insult to injury, the Republican estate tax proposal would help only 39,000 of America’s richest families, while adding about $25 billion more to the deficit.

“Republicans have held the middle class hostage for provisions that benefit only the wealthiest 3 percent, do not create jobs, and add tens of billions of dollars to the deficit.

“We will continue discussions with the President and our Caucus in the days ahead. Democratic priorities remain clear: to provide a tax cut for working families, to promote policies that produce jobs and economic growth, and to assist millions of our fellow Americans who have lost their jobs through no fault of their own.”

Typical Marxist speak from stretch. We are all Americans and are not divided up into neat categories by the IRS, Devilcrats, Libs or RINOs. No American should have their taxes raised in this environment. All Americans should have a tax cut right now.

Let's starve the giant bloated beast of the Federal Government and get money back into the hands of Americans.

I wonder what it’s like to be married to Nancy...to live in the same house. “Am I losing my mind, or is it you?”

They are going to make productive talented people who succeed extinct.
This class warfare game has the top 1% paying the vast majority of all payroll taxes.
At some point IMO you piss off all the ones who are young enough to not retire and they will leave for international places with reasonable tax structures IMO where those that can do are not spat upon by the left.

The Speaker’s statement on Obama’s compromise tax bill does nothing to change the public’s impression of her as a mindless twit who is constipated by her ideology.

Governments don't produce jobs.

They take from individuals under threat of imprisonment.

The concept is really quite simple.

“I only want to raise taxes on some Americans while leaving the rest of the rates where they are and telling the saps that they can thank ME for giving them a ‘cut’ even though they got NOTHING more than before...”

The above is what Barack Obama would say IF he ever told the truth.

right. Republicans favor working for a living and not being taxed to death for it while Democrats favor sitting around drinking beer, smoking weed, and collecting checks from the government. I would say more but I got called in to work today and have to run. seriously.

“The Democratic provisions will create jobs and help 155 million workers through tax cuts for the middle class, helping working families who are struggling and growing the economy.

Using this logic, the so-called tax cuts for the wealthy will do the same thing. The reality is that there is a cost for not allowing the tax cuts to expire whether it is the middle class or the "wealthy." The money doesn't belong to the government nor does a tax cut or keeping the same rates have to be paid for.

And increasing unemployment benefits for another 13 months is not funded and will add to the deficit. And so will the 2% reduction in employee payroll taxes.

Is there any point to trying to figure out what the hell she’s talking about? And one needs to remember that when Pelosi talks about creating jobs, she’s talking about getting more people on unemployment, foodstamps and welfare. And why are Democrats never concerned about the deficit when THEY’RE talking about more handouts?

These meatheads wouldn’t be in this spot if they hadn’t gone ahead with that health care drivel and the so-called stimulus plan.

They’d probably still control the House as well.

But because Democrats cannot count, they are now sinking in the Big Muddy.

Putzes.

She needs to explain, then, why..with a 100 seat majority, she couldn’t get her bill passed in the House..

Love it. From me to Nancy, “get bit.” (An expression we used in high school in the 50s.)
