If the dems kill this bill:
1) The American people will become furious when their paychecks get smaller and blame zer0 and the dems.
2) We can negotiate a MUCH better deal especially on the death tax.
3) Long term memory will help us iin 2010.
This is just the beginning of the benefits to having the dems kill this crummy compromise.

I don’t see any downside to the defeat of this package.
You missed a huge one:
4) The “rich” decide that tax rates are better in 2010 than 2011, and cash out of everything they can in the next 2 weeks to pay the lower rate. Result will make the previous economic meltdown look downright cushy.
