A 32-year-old Allentown man has been charged with kidnapping and robbery after admitting to abducting a woman returning to her car at the Lehigh Valley Mall on Thursday night, then forcing her to buy him clothing at a downtown Allentown store.
Tyquann S. McCord, of 533 Cedar St., held a BB gun pistol to a woman's ribs around 7 p.m. outside the Whitehall Township shopping mall and forced her into the passenger seat of her car, according to the arrest affidavit.
McCord drove the woman to an ATM, where he forced her to withdraw $200, and to New York Urban on W. Hamilton Street, where he held a gun to her back and forced her to buy $800 worth of clothing on her credit card. McCord also robbed the woman of jewelry she was wearing, including her wedding ring.
Police arrived at New York Urban after calls from store personnel and found McCord in possession of a tazer. McCord admitted to abducting the woman, and police also retrieved the BB gun.
