Herman declined to comment further about what made deputies believe Steen was drunk.I guess a 5 car accident didn't stand out for a reason to believe he was drinking and driving ?

Isn’t it ok for a police officer or senator or any public servant to commit crimes? (Lost my sarcasm tag!)

My mother used to call this “joking on the square”, it means you may be kidding but there is a hint of truth in there somewhere.

Did you see the rest ?Prior to his arrest, Steen was already under internal investigation over an August incident in which another officer told supervisors that he thought he smelled alcohol on his breath. Steen fled the station after being ordered to stay, according to police internal records.

Fleeing the police station, 5 car accident, how did this guy retain his job after being ordered to stay at the police station, but he took off - according to police internal records. Yet they had him out there still driving ? that is messed up
