Well, that's kind of like what the Nazis and others did in WW II in response to partisan attacks. OK, maybe half a village instead of only the immediate family relatives.

These people live through their families; raise the price of being a suicide bomber to that of every member of their family and either they’ll be more reluctant to commit suicide attacks, or their family will less tolerant of such inclinations.
The Israelis got some pretty good results just by bulldozing the houses of Pali suicide bombers...

I believe it is you that made the assertion...based on what? You cite no proof that Obummer relishes troop deaths. Let's stick to the facts about his incompetence and racist views. There's a ton of them. That's all I have to say about that.

McChrystal put the kibosh on those plans.
The idea for the medal originated with British Maj. Gen. Nick Carter, NATO commander of troops in southern Afghanistan. Carter floated the idea during a visit to Kandahar in April by British Army Command Sgt. Maj. Michael Hall.
But McChrystal, who is leading coalition forces in Afghanistan, told reporters during a press conference at the Pentagon today that the military does not need a new medal to recognize a particular kind of valor.
