$1 Billion for Obamacare in Omnibus Spending Bill
National Review Online ^ | December 15, 2010 | Katrina Trinko

In addition to the earmarks, the Senate omnibus spending bill also contains provisions totaling over $1 billion that will help fund Obamacare’s implementation. About $81 million will go to the Department of Health and Human Services for costs related to the enforcing the mandate and the new health care regulations. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services will receive $176 million to finance starting the Medicaid expansion and the costs associated with the Medicare Advantage cuts. The National Health Care Workforce Commission, which was created by Obamacare, will nab $3 million.

I’m surprised they don’t just ram down a 10 trillion dollar porkulus package while they are at it. Evil bastards.

My goodness! There must be more than “vote them out of office” that we can do for this outright robbery. The Republicans who voted for this - aside from those already fired by Republican voters - should be marked for defeat at the next turn. Except of MooKowski of Alaska, which the Alaskan voters wrote in to office, she needs to marginalized by Republicans and considered for the RINO she is.

I hope the TEA Party is in overdrive! I’ve let Paul Ryan know that we expect him to vote against this even if it means the Bush tax cuts expire. Clean up the mess in January.

Yes, elections have consequences...but apparently not the ones we thought. (Yes, I know the new congress isn’t sworn in....Does that mean these guys can just lie down until next month?)

Why do I think that most ‘BammyCare spending will remain in the hands and pockets of the bureaucrats?

This whole Omnibus bill is a planned strategy by the dems. I think they know this will not pass so they are going to negotiate this away for agreement to pass DADT and The Dream Act...
