Good post!
The trick I’ve seen is a smaller container of ‘x’ at the same price the large one used to cost. Sneaky.
Produce: Today at the ‘cheap’ supermarket, a pound of strawberries (regular ole ‘berries, not organic or anything sexy) was $4.99. Yikes!
Also, gasoline is going up daily.
I was buying Christmas baking ingredients and noticed that the big bags of chocolate chips are smaller. The regular sized bags are 12 oz, right? And the big bags are supposed to be double the size of the 12 oz, right? Nope. The big bags are now 23 oz rather than 24 oz. Cheaters!
They’ve been doing this for many years, but I’ve noticed that the cereal boxes are really shrinking. Pretty soon you’ll get an individual size box for what a large one used to cost. Wendy’s does this too with their burgers. A Jr. Bacon feels like a feather.

That is the normal price of strawberries in December in this neck of the woods.

That’s kind of the trick they’ve been doing with Laundry Detergent. They’re labeling the product as super concentrate and charging 3 to 4 times as much for the same size container! Of all the price increases over the past year, that’s the one I’ve really noticed the most. Next is coffee. I actually saw a large can of coffee for almost $11.
Same up here in the PNW.
Buy loads of ‘em when in season and freeze.
I make fruit smoothies them when my body core feels to hot.
I use real Black Cherry juice as my liqued core, ice, strawberries, banana and pineapple sherbert. Yummy.
And the black cherry juice is a natural way to lower uric acid levels that can bring on the gout.
I don’t eat fruitcake but I like to make it and my husband loves it...but anybody catch the price of those candied fruits?....ridiculous...
