No idea what you're talking about. Met my bride the old-fashioned way -- in church.
Decades later, we're still going.

That’s awesome. Are you new to farming?

Sort of. I used to help my uncle in eastern washington in the mid-1960’s. It’s amazing how so much comes back to you. He grew alfalfa and a few dairy and beef cattle.
We got 500 bales of hay last summer and the best way I was able to help was that it was the first time my neighbor ever used his square bale baler. It kept snapping the sheer bolt, but I was the one that was able to fix it. My aptitude is really strong in mechanical reasoning. I get to actually apply it to the physical world at the “real” farm, as opposed to the virtual world at the cubical farm. :)
Also, I don’t really intend do use it as a “farm”. We plan on growing a couple of head of beef every year, along with “some” hay and a very large garden. My neighbor cuts the hay and gets to keep most of it for his trouble, leaving enough back for me to feed my cattle. I’ll continue in my job, but it will be a mix of telecommuting and flying to job sites.
So far, I love the “real” work at the farm. It is much more rewarding.
I just blogged about a Tea Party alternative to Omaha Steaks: Pat Boone’s All-American Meats: http://hennessysview.com/2010/12/18/all-american-alternative-to-leftist-omaha-steaks/
How would you handle slaughtering the cattle? Have you figured out the yield, and what you’d need over time?
I wish you the best.
