I am not scolding you or taking issue with your posting.
I am merely stating my opinion and I think it’s a shame that RedState regular readers can’t just conduct their own poll, but such is the way of the Internet.
In a recent poll, Hermain Cain, in the MO of Ron Paul, had all of his FaceBook friends *pump* his numbers.
...In a recent poll, Herman Cain, in the MO of Ron Paul, had all of his FaceBook friends *pump* his numbers.I understand your concern.
But that the previous poll (the one that Herman Cain "FReeped" from his facebook page) -- was on THIS VERY SAME WEBSITE (RedState.com) -- which is one of the main reasons that they are running it again now. :o)
Since FR took down the "thread view" counter, we can no longer know for certain how many FReepers viewed this thread -- but in the old days, when we could, a very popular thread like Ann Coulter's weekly column would regularly get around 1,500 "thread views."Plus, Governor Palin may not have even been the only person that FReepers from this thread voted for.Sometimes as much as 2,000. But that's for Ann's regular weekly column. THIS thread (posted on a weekend night) probably only got a few hundred "thread views."
And, based on my previous experience with "FReeping" polls, we wouild be lucky to get TEN PERCENT of those who "viewed" this thread to actually VOTE.
So we might expect that AT MOST, FReepers from this thread added a few hundred votes to that poll. Probably more like a few dozen. Here are the CURRENT results, post "FReeping."And, you cannot easily "vote like a Democrat" on these RedState polls. I know; I tried. ;)
Not much change Governor Palin's position.
Who is your initial preferred pick for the GOP President Candidate Selection Votes Haley Barbour 4% 360 John Bolton 4% 335 Jeb Bush 3% 246 Herman Cain 8% 680 Mitch Daniels 8% 649 Mike Huckabee 5% 396 Sarah Palin 33% 2,716 Tim Pawlenty 5% 388 Mike Pence 14% 1,133 Rick Perry 3% 275 David Petraeus 3% 216 Mitt Romney 8% 686 John Thune 2% 185 8,265 votes total
Bottom line: Internet polls are generally worthless, and Presidential polls this far out are almost meaningless...
...but the results of this current poll show that Sarah is still "ineluctable," in MY opinion. :o)
