I'm sure many FReepers were waiting for homosexuality to be yoked to civil rights. Personally, I see a glaring difference between blacks who wanted to serve in the military and homosexuals.
Blacks who wanted to serve simply wanted to be seen as soldiers, soldiers who wanted to prove that they were as capable as thier white counterparts.
Homosexuals want to emphasize and proclaim their lifestyle; it isn't so much about civil rights as it is about forcing the military to accept a life style that is bound to destroy morale, cohesiveness, and readiness.
There is a huge difference between the two.
If I were a black man in America, I would resent gays piggybacking on real civil rights issues.

I read earlier today Joe Lieberman sponsored a bill to have sodomy removed from the UCMJ.

MAJ Smith....I’m sorry to report sir that the DoD has a plan in place to specifically amend the UCMJ to remove the sodomy provisions. It was part of the DoD report that was used by RINOs as cover to repeal DADT.
I believe we are worse off to the point that only a miracle from God can save us now. The end times are unfolding before our eyes.

I would go so far as saying we see with this, more evidence that a state religious establishment is being imposed upon the people -a clear violation of the Constitution.

In addition to eradicating religion form public discourse thay as well seek to do away with and conscience protections. Not only will they force their evil upon individuals. they as well will force individuals to participate in it or face penalty...
