Opinion: 'Don't Ask/Don't Tell' Repeal is Not a 'Civil Rights' Breakthrough
Catholic Online ^ | 12/19/10 | Keith A Fournier

On Saturday, December 18, 2019, the United States Senate voted 65-31 to pass legislation lifting the current policy in the United States Military referred to as "Don't Ask, Don't Tell".

...In what is presented as a "civil rights" breakthrough, service men and women with same sex attraction will soon be able to openly declare that acting on those sexual desires identifies who they are as persons. In addition, everybody in the military service must accept it and welcome it. They will also be able to openly express those desires in the pattern of their lives as members of the armed forces. Of course, there will be some limits as there are on heterosexual sexual practices.

The strategic activists committed to the homosexual equivalency movement - which seeks to enforce a societal acceptance of homosexual, bi-sexual and lesbian sexual relationships as morally equivalent to opposite sex marriage - have succeeded on one more front in their agenda.

Is it true they are shutting down Pendleton and moving training to Broakback Mountain?

I don’t care if homosexuality is learned or genetic or a combination of both. It is a sexual perversion and nothing to be proud of or proclaimed as something as normal and acceptable. And...... it really pisses me off that it is foisted upon normal folks regardless their own moral views.

Nothing good can come of this and it is just one more conquest for the left and it won’t stop here.

I don't know about the welcome part.

They have succeeded on one more front in their agenda.

It obviously will now be law, but it will not be accepted as normal behavior - no matter how much they try!

“...is Not a ‘Civil Rights’ Breakthrough “

No, the homosexuals want the Government to pay for the adverse consequences of their perversion. In other words when the homosexuals contract the AIDS virus it will be paid for through the V.A.

UCMJ 925. ARTICLE. 125. SODOMY

(a) Any person subject to this chapter who engages in unnatural carnal copulation with another person of the same or opposite sex or with an animal is guilty of sodomy. Penetration , however slight, is sufficient to complete the offense. (b) Any person found guilty of sodomy shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.

I can’t see how stinking up the barracks with feces stained sheets is going to go over very well
with the normal men in the units. This ignorant law will really help separate the real men from the homos.

WHAT ABOUT THE UNIFORM CODE of MILITARY JUSTICE/CONGRESSIONAL CODE of MILITARY CRIMINAL LAW (UCMJ)???

Since the federal law known as DADT was passed to allow non-flamboyant homosexuals to serve in the military as long as they did not ‘tell’ are we not back to square one, the UCMJ? That some have tried to make DADT appear as a measure to preclude homosexual service is now of no consequence. Is the UCMJ, as passed by Congress and reinforced, time and again by the Supreme Court, still in effect, all articles in place? Does this regulation/federal code/law once again make homosexuality (numerous acts with consenting adults including anything other than the ‘missionary position’ between a man and a woman are also precluded by law) non-conforming to military service and reason for judicial action by commanders, including expulsion from the service?

When DADT was passed it was hailed as a compromise allowing homosexuals to serve as long as they did not talk about their sexual perversions nor act on them while in the United States Military. What precludes recruiters and commanders from once again ‘asking’ the simple question; ‘ So my man (woman) are you a homosexual/lesbian or simply a heterosexual muff diving back-door artist’? After all the only reason for passing DADT was to preclude ‘asking’ and not to allow gays to flounce to formation with or without mascara smeared. Prudish commanders may also go after those engaging in oral sex between men and women under the UCMJ. DADT fixed a number of problems not addressed before but they can and must be addressed now. That is and remains the law.

Do commanders now ignore their basic tool of military discipline and just not enforce parts of it dealing with homosexuality? Where does this leave the rest of the UCMJ? Can soldiers now refuse to fight or simply absent themselves from their unit at will because the basic military law is subject to just be ignored? May they leak classified documents if they become sexually frustrated because handsome Private Jones likes girls?

Will Congress and the simpering fool in the White House now be able to change the UCMJ before the new group arrives on the scene in January? I doubt that will happen. Will Admiral Mullen, who is in no position to order anything, ‘order’ Service Chiefs to simply ignore the UCMJ?

DADT WAS A MEANS USED BY CLINTON AND CONGRESS TO ALLOW CLOSET GAYS TO SERVE AND NOT TO PRECLUDE THEIR SERVING. IT IS TIME TO EXPOSE THE MYTH THAT DADT WAS PASSED TO PROTECT THE MILITARY AND NOT ACTUALLY THE FIRST STEP IN DESTROYING IT.

THE UCMJ STANDS AND AS LONG AS IT DOES SAILOR/SUCKER (OR WHATEVER YOU ARE MOON) IT BETTER BE ENFORCED!!!!!!

Let's see if the left would like it if it were written like this:

Service men and women with opposite sex attraction will soon be able to openly declare that acting on those sexual desires identifies who they are as persons. In addition, all military persons who are gay or lesbian must accept it and welcome it.

May God remove his blessing from this land and make known His judgment in the most violent, unambiguous, and unmistakable way possible.

With this vote, this country has stated an unambiguous rejection of God. God help the remnant within this country who have not declared “non serviam” to suffer martyrdom bravely.

Repeal the Repeal in 2013 when we have a conservative President and a conservative majority in the Senate!

What happened on Dec. 18th isn’t the end of the fight....
it’s the beginning.

Let the military continue to enforce the UMCJ against homosexual acts. The liberals will scream bloody murder, but hey, congress makes the rules.

Now all the unintended (and intended) consequences will come out - the ones the democrats wouldn’t let there be hearings about less the American people know the truth.

Gay “couples” will demand military family housing. Christian (and Muslim!) chaplains whose sermons quote the readings of Paul will be accused of hate speech. Catholic and consercvative Christian chaplains will be forced to “marry” gay couples. Gay commanders will be hitting on subordinates who in protest will be accused of hate speech (only the gay person is protected from hate speech.) Gay lovers in combat will be focused on protecting their “loved ones”. (It’s a big reason why we don’t tolerate heterosexual pairings in combat - the soldier is more protective of the lover than about the team.)

But the senators who approved this will not be affected. Few of them have ever served in the military, most of them hate the military, and most of them, including Obama, would love to see this “force for evil and world domination” neutered and negated.
