I worked with Tea Party people in Texas myself as a poll-watcher, and the group I affiliated with were not the Tea Party Express.

That's great, there are thousands of Tea Party groups across the country and the Tea Party Express has worked with many of them.

The TPX doesn't have any chapters, clubs or groups they are just what they are and as I said, work with many Tea Party groups when they spring into action.

It looks like the Tea Party Express may be making a bid for leadership of the movement as a whole...

Nope, that is not their goal at all. They know who the leaders are...millions of Patriotic Citizens of the USA who are Taxed Enough Already.

In fact I think it is because of that very fact that the Tea Party Express group has become the most effective and most covered news-wize of all the large Tea Party groups.

It seems their way to effect what needs to be done to bring our country back to the Constitutional Republic that it was a few years ago is to travel across the country making contact with the people.

And in the process keep close to what the "leaders" that are encountered by the thousands want. Similar goals for sure.

And doing media interviews/press conferences to express what the grassroots people want and to help Conservative candidates (with TPM type goals) get elected.

...but at least the Express people are in fact genuine conservatives, if tainted with the name of "political professionalism".

Yes they are. I don't think Free Repulbic would be so closely aligned with them if they weren't.

LOL, yea tainted is right.

But in this case it's a good thing.

Don’t let Time-Warner-Turner-HBO-CNN pick ANY of the debate moderators or suggest any of the questions/topics.

It is. CNN goes out of it’s way everyday to promote big government and paint Tea Partiers as extremists.

OK, no problem.

The article calls it The Tea Party debate.

That is what it will be.

Why CNN? Lowest ratings on cable.

Did you know that in the last election that CNN had more viewers than FOX?

I think it is because it has pretty straight forward reporting (yea I know their talking heads are biased and show it) where as FOX seems to spend too much time with their guests like Beckel, Gingrich, Colmes, Rove etc pontificating.

I know that at times when there is a big breaking story and FOX and CNN are covering it, FOX will spend most of their time with the guests talking and the actual breaking story live video as a b-roll with no sound.

Switch to CNN and the story is reported more directly.

This first-ever Tea Party Presidential Debate for GOP candidates for president will get them huge ratings and at the same time get Tea Party information out there big time.

“This is a potential disaster for the Tea Party movement and our election chances in 2012.”

Yes, it is. Reason being....the public, in general, does not and will not distinguish between TPX and TPM. The entire TPM will be held responsible for anything TPX does.

Precisely. The other thing that made the movement so successful was there was NO ONE TO ISOLATE. The LEFTIST media and AGITPROP organizations had no faces to associate with the TEA PARTY, and thus made it difficult to utilize the Saul Alinski tactics of isolating the target and destroying it. With no clear leadership, it was impossible to discredit it by destroying a few individuals. Now that the Tea Party Express has emerged, CNN and the propagandists can tie the movement to these few individuals—and it makes it easier to isolate, discredit, and marginalize.

That is excellent, Kimberley.

I would word it a little differently. As in the past, the TPM will benefit for what the TPX does.

So far since the very beginning of the TPM the TPX has, as a grass roots Tea Party org, represented the movement quite well.

Thanks for your input.

The way the TPE abandoned its candidates after the primaries last year should pretty much wipe out their credibility. It was pretty much “Yay! We won the primary!” and then all but disappeared, save for bus tours that got them publicity but did nothing in the way of serving their candidates. I am very suspicious of their motives. This partnering with the likes of CNN doesn’t do anything to improve upon my suspicions, and I don’t see where any good could come of it.

If I am incorrect, show me the expenditures for and link us to videos of the TV ads ran for Christine O’Donnell throughout the general election campaign against Chris Coons.

Lets look at your statements first.
The way the TPE abandoned its candidates after the primaries last year should pretty much wipe out their credibility. It was pretty much “Yay! We won the primary!” and then all but disappeared
TPX worked with Miller up to the general election with support, money bombs press conferences etc.

Angle was apparently advised by her staff to not appear at tea party events.

Nevertheless, TPX kept working to help her win the general and even were in Las Vegas on election day/eve.

Tea Party Express went more than once to Delaware to Help O'Donnel

They provided a venue in Delaware for her to speak at on their last bus tour to about a thousand people, plus it was streamed live and got thousands of views live and many more from the archives.

If you want more, do some research and you will find it.

Statements like yours, what it said and the way it was said, just screams strawman.

The TPX did NOT abandon their candidates.

Did you support Tea Party Candidates?

Uh, no, no, no, no - You are not going to make this about me. Again, please link to the TV ads ran for O’Donnell to show they continued the same strong push for her going into the general election as they did in the primary.

I think I responded to this statement of yours quite throughly:

Nothing will change your mind, and it's not my job to placate you by saddling up your one trick pony

Heck, you can't even say you support Tea Party candidates!
