One of America’s most strident - and misguided - hacks demonstrates why the Democrats are simply socialists mislabeled; this character indicates beyond any shadow of a doubt that the party considers that all assets are properly the property of The State, and citizens are allowed to keep a small fraction at the sufferance of The State, as its minions feel the whim to allow.

Heirs Didn’t Do Anything to Deserve Inheritance

And what in the Constitution allows or requires the Federal government to make that judgement?????

They're the GOVERNMENT and can do anything they please. In Bawney's case, that includes running a male prostitution ring out of his DC crib.

Barney is jealous that he is unable to create any heirs.

Barney's views aren't new or novel. Check out the views of folks like Adam Smith, Jefferson, Tom Paine, etc. in this recent Economist article.

I was a mite surprised when I first read it.

I really believe that Barney's brain is totally diseased from his sick lifestyle.

as for my husband and I were are spending our kids inheritance daily...soon will all be gone, but we did provide them educations, which they worked and earned and both have happy homes and jobs....we are blessed and when our end comes and we touch the Master's hem of his garment, then we will be Completely at Peace.

Here's a surprise for you - at least, it was a surprise to me. There are more than a few people in another forum who agree with Barney Frank on this issue. Do I mean the DUmmies? No. Daley Kos? Nope.

Zero Hedge. Look at the comments to this piece if you don't believe me.

Heritage Foundation has a good article on the history of the federal estate tax:

http://www.heritage.org/research/reports/2004/01/estate-taxes-an-historical-perspective

Short answer is that prior to 1916 the estate tax was levied intermittently, mainly to fund wars. The modern estate tax was part of the Revenue Act of 1916. It initially had a bottom rate of 1% with a max of 10%, and only applied to estates valued at over $50,000 ($11M in current dollars). They’ve got a nice chart showing how the rates have changed over the years.

Three cheers for the Heritage Foundation and the internet!

On the family farm, the heirs did nothing but work alongside Grandpa, Grandma, Dad and Mom for a lot of long hours when they could have been doing something else.

Did a fag do anything to deserve federal money to help pay for his HIV/aids treatment?

The biggest sucks ( baby mommas, queers, etc) talk about how others don’t deserve what was earned and already taxed while they demand something for nothing.

It doesn’t matter if a heirs did nothing to earn the money. The money has already been taxed multiple times. The death tax (love how they say estate tax) represents triple and sometimes quadruple taxation of the same money. I’d say pi$$ on Barney Frank but he’s the kind that might enjoy it.

What the hell did the government do to deserve property taken away from a grieving family?

What the hell gives politicians like Frank the right to steal from the dead? Isn’t it sad enough that someone just lost a father, mother, grandparent, sibling, etc., without stealing the family’s money as well???

Barney Frank and those like him are pure evil.

The man - and I use the term lightly - is an abomination - anyway you look at it.

Brain dead. Morally dead.

How do these people get elected, let along KEEP getting elected.
His is responsible for more damage to our country than about anyone you can name.
