You seem to be under the impression that intellectuals are smart. Basically they went to the right schools and knew the right people to get into the inside track of politics. That doesn't mean they are the most intelligent. They are under the illusion that they are the best and brightest and therefore should rule our lives.
I'll trade you a pound of intellectual for a gram of common sense. I will have gotten the better deal.
