(CathNews) Santa will not be visiting students in St. Peter, Minnesota this year. Muslim immigrants got him cancelled. The MinnPost reported, via Pat Dollard:
Santa Claus, as portrayed by Dennis Jackson, won’t be visiting students at the Head Start classes in St. Peter this year.
Jackson has made appearances the past four years at the classes for students who need help preparing for school, but this year officials said, “No, no, no.”
The reason: The classes have many immigrant children who don’t celebrate Christmas, says the Mankato Free Press.
Santa’s a little frosted, the paper says.
It kind of burnt me up,” he said.
The official explanation from Chris Marben, who coordinates regional Head Start programs through Mankato-based Minnesota Valley Action Council: “We have Somali families in the program. We’re respecting the wishes of families in the program.”
She didn’t say how many objections were made, but said more than one would be enough to cancel Santa…
Jackson said he’s played Santa with children from other cultures before and they were fully comfortable with him. He said it’s their parents who are being unreasonable.
“They’re not respecting the majority,” he said. “My feeling is (objecting parents) can take their kids out of class for half an hour and let the other kids enjoy it. They should sacrifice, not rule.”
Funny, I knew that is what you meant; but thought 'merit' could work; if only by a little stretch/lol.

Frankly, don't get the weakness of those making these decisions. Is Liberalism their only excuse? Get rid of these dangerous apparatchiks for Islam and for the Left. . Get rid of all of them.

Agree 100%. Another worthless taxpayer funded program that produces no viable positive results. However, it does make those pos social workers feel good about themselves and how they are forcing those evil rich taxpayers to fund a program for the less privileged. And they get to tell the poor parents how much to government is doing for them and their children!
Most other cultures, no problem. But Islam is another matter entirely.

Yeah, it’s kind of funny. They used to go after Jesus and try to X-mas him out of the equation. I guess they feel they did so well with that, that now they can elevate Frosty and disappear Santy. I’ve been noticing that there are only about 10 Christmas songs that still get played on muzak and the radio station that plays Christmas music. They’re the only ones that are completely secular.
BTW, I used to dislike the abbreviation X-mas, but I read a few years ago that it is hundreds of years old and literally means “Cross” or “Christ” Mass, so it’s ok.

I look at Santa Claus as a metaphor for Jesus. Having Santa come down the chimley and bring presents and sweets for the children is a reminder of the Greater Gift that God made to us of his Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ.

Those Christians and secularists would still be engaged something prohibited by Islam.
The Saudis are funding settlements here. And they do not permit an "exchange" of cultural beliefs, Bibles and such will be seized and burned by the state if they are found in Saudi Arabia.
