Republican opposition to New START is collapsing. One Senate source just told me the vote for ratification could go as high as 75. Another said, “I don’t know if it will get that high, but it’s starting to tick up there.” As the sense builds that ratification is inevitable, Republicans are lining up to get on the “right side.” Lamar Alexander’s support, noted below, is a crucial sign of which way the wind is blowing, although he’ll probably be the only member of the Republican leadership to vote for it. At least Jon Kyl was able to get more money for modernization and that letter from President Obama making assurances on missile defense. Otherwise, this is a dismaying rout.

Isakson’s phone if off the hook. The answer machine in Ga says they are not answering the phones, leave a message. Whoops! Mailbox full.....no surprise there.

When they refuse to answer their damned phones it shows them up for the @ussies they are.

And they have to obey orders, as we all know. If the “dear leader” tells them to say, “I am a Sasquatch hell-bent on destroying this nation” that’s what they have to say.

That’s where America is at right now.

I do wonder what threat Obama/Soros is using against these people. During the destabilization phase of a communist coup the critical infrastructure is captured: banking, military, courts, etc. Once those are gone the rest will naturally follow in due time. Soros can give some concessions like the Dream Act but if this is truly the destabilization phase of the coup then they will do whatever it takes to get the critical infrastructure, and that’s what Obama/Soros is doing in spite of the lame-duck Congress and a Senate with enough R’s to filibuster until the R’s are the majority in the House.

There have to be threats involved. There is no reason for the R’s to cave. No reason for Alexander to cave - especially after he had just said that he hates how this is being forced RIGHT NOW. Who lit the fire under him and how? If he didn’t like this being crammed down our throats then why did he all of a sudden open wide?

His constituents need to ask him that in a very POINTED way. It stinks to high heaven and he needs to give an answer. He also needs to know that his refusal to just hold the line until there is time for people to think this through will contaminate the Republican label all over the country.

I am so sick of these people force-feeding the nation a crap sandwich right at Christmas time. Nothing like being raped for the holidays. Everybody smile and say Merry Christmas and then everything will be fine. These people need to go home for Christmas and get what’s coming to them. Like Ben Nelson got last year when he tried to eat at a pizza place after the Cornhusker Kickback. This Cornhusker would like to kick back a lot of folks who come back to the state with the stench of the DC cesspool on them.

I don’t think this is a House issue. Treaties are the stuff of the Senate.

I just don’t understand why the Republicans just don’t hunker down and state that this can wait until the new congress goes in session.

Anything pushed through in this manner is suspect, period.

Those voting for this, if for no other reason that the damn thing can wait...dag it was negotiated in april for God’s sake, Lord there’s your talking points....should be UNELECTED in 2012.

They’re banking that the electorate will forget all about some meaningless treaty in 2012, these pubs voting for this thing. And they could be right. Damn the American public and what’s right for the country. And they’re getting something for it too, don’t know what...but they’re not doing this out of the goodness of their heart.

The creation of a Political Elite Ruling Class is what’s going on here and nothing less.

As 1 Thes.5:3 reads: “For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.”

I really am convinced that our elected officials are demonically controlled and influenced these days. It is more important for them to appear to be on the “winning side” than to do what is right.

America is now less safe as a result. And the average American citizen will be the first ones to be directly influenced by this Treaty. Not these senators who will have access to a fallout free bunker.
