“I don’t know about Obama but I was born here so I’m indigenous.”

Does`nt count. They mean INDIGENOUS indigenous. That means anyone born here after the first crackers arrived is not considered indigenous.

William's own accountants claim over 100,000 men from Brittany ~ 100% Celtic, and 100% decended from folks resident in Roman Britain, accompanied his invasion of England in 1066.

William also took numerous Normans, and before the Viking conquest of Normandy they ALSO spoke the same Romano/Celtic language spoken by the Bretons, and the Welsh!

Today when they do the good old DNA studies in UK they find that there appears to have been NO Saxon invasion at all!

Apparently the Saxons got washed out by something, and that's probably the return of the people they thought they'd run off.

So whether you all look alike or not, you got Welsh DNA and are probably not any more differentiated from the Basques than everybody else in the West, or even in the Celtic (speaking) fringe.

It's only AFTER William took so much of the population and wealth of the region that the Gallo language managed to penetrate the more ancient language frontier.

It moved several hundred miles in fact.

The royal family that lived in Anjou and ruled England by remote spoke Gallo and not French. That didn't happen until the 1400s or so.

I know, it's a subtle distinction but important to know when you look at old documents ~ otherwise you might think you were reading bad Latin. NOTE: Doing genealogical research into some Franco/Breton ancestors I discovered there's a whole school of Gallo language specialists ~ and since there are so many dialects of this "language" there are specialists within the specialty and regular certification for literacy at different forms and levels.

That's when I gave up trying to Learn Gallo ~ instead I look for translations into French or Spanish and work from there.

They’re about to dig up some whitey who they believe came here over 10,000 years ago. Of course the INDIGENOUS indigenous have a problem with that.

As I understand it the Normans themselves never had sufficient numbers to populate Britain; they built castles and ruled as a small minority from there. The people they ruled kept the language they used before the invasion: English derived from the Saxon language. We still speak it.

Actually English is FAR MORE complex than that. In 1066 it was still a typical Indo-European language with many beaucoup suffixes and irregular word order.

With the arrival of William the native speakers took things in hand, added a vast number of Gallo and Latin words to the mix, dropped prefixes entirely and FIXED word order ~ making the language much more like Chinese than French or German.

It was quite a feat ~ but it couldn't be done as long as it was required for use in court, or in giving orders, or governing England. Once it was liberated from the official straightjacket it became FAR MORE EFFICIENT and is now the most dominant world language.

The formerly Gallo speaking ruling elite came to adopt English as a workable language. It even had a backwards influence on French as that language met head on with English speaking Gallo people in Western France (in Anjou).

As far as the Saxon dialects, there were at least 32 of them (which is something that happens to Old West Gothic's many forms when people settle down. In England they literally withered away and evaporated. What you have left are a lot of prepositions that do all the work other languages use suffixes for.

That means that all Turks have to get the hell out of Asia Minor. The land was stolen almsot all indigenous people were genocided.

Their descendants should get it back.
