The amazing thing about this is that it occurred in Maryland, yet the business owner had a gun. Even better if he wrestled the gun away from the bad guy.

What kind of Darwin award winner would rob a donut shop (or adjoining business)?

A would-be robber shot by an Anne Arundel County property/gas station owner early Tuesday has died from his injuries. Glorious news.

Good point.
The perp probably bled out because the cops had to wait for their coffee and donuts to go.

Boston Creme or jelly filled? Did he get to take a bite as a last meal? Is he now having second thoughts about pulling a 3:30AM holdup, or an anytime holdup? Is the world a better place minus this perp? You betcha.

The poor owner, at a minim it will be a manslaughter charge. Never shoot a criminal in Maryland.

"....suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the lower extremity."Would someone with a medical background please explain to me exactly where the "lower extremity" is located?
If it's where I think it is, I think death would be a merciful ending. /Sarc
Wasn't this in the old days called a "gutshot"?
To: SnuffaBolshevik
Lower extremity? Could be a large caliber round through the femoral artery in the thigh. Bleed out from that one real quick...

I think extremities are limbs, but he would hardly die from a shot to the leg, unless the talented shooter happened to hit an artery. Perhaps it was a shot to the groin.

It’s possible the owner wrestled the gun from the robber, or at least was able to discharge it in the bad guys direction.
