House GOP Health Care Repeal Could Pick Up a Few Dem Votes

Only a few moderate or conservative Democrats remain left in the House of Representatives come opening day on Wednesday, but expect at least a chunk of them to vote in favor of the Republican plan to repeal the health care law.

As one of its first act in the new Congress, the Republican majority is calling up the law for repeal. Text of the repeal bill is already online for Americans to read and a vote is expected on Jan. 12.

Several moderate and conservative Democrats contacted by Fox News on Monday night said they wanted to first evaluate the Republican proposal hitting the House floor before deciding how they might vote.

But, at least one Democrat who voted against the health bill last year and in late 2009 is already leaning toward voting to repeal the law.

"I have not read the language yet, but I am inclined to support the repeal," said Rep. Dan Boren D-Okla. "I have voted against the measure in the last Congress and a full 68 percent of Oklahomans support repeal."

Correct. Beginning tomorrow, when the new Congress is sworn in, flood your representative’s office with calls in favor of repeal - especially if you have a Democratic representative. Make them feel the heat.

Any Democrat who does not vote for repeal of “Obamacare” must be destroyed politically in 2012. The Democrat dummies voted for “Obamacare” blindly following morons, Pelosi, Reid and Obama. Democrats can save their party by destroying Obama politically right now. A vote by enough Democrats to repeal Obamacare instantly makes Obama a failed POTUS and lame duck!!! Democrat fools, wake-up, save yourselves, or you will go down with failed POTUS Obama!!! Republicans, we, the People, expect every Pubbie house member to vote for repeal of Obamacare!!!

It is going to be nothing more than a symbolic vote. I hope I am wrong. They are not going to repeal it. Hell, I bet they have a back door plan to fund it. Same party, different letter.

I think you’re right. Many provisions are implemented, more are in the process. Insurance companies have restructured to meet the needs of the mandates. The horse is out of the barn - the good battles will be those which eliminate future mandates. Repeal those.

In the words of Nancy Pelosi:

"No one should read the (repeal) bill. Just sign it so we know what's in it."

Unfortunately, my congresswoman was the one who came up with the idea to deem it as passed without needing to vote on it. Please Loiuse?

You mean you're supposed to READ a bill before voting on it???

I agree with you. I believe it will pass the house and fail in the senate. We can only hope and pray.
