Thats gotta be the worst excuse in a long long time.
We can start the cuts with congressional pay. Reduce in half and only raise with the COLA. Cut pension by ninety percent for all members of congress. Cut government workforce by twenty percent and suspend in grade pay increases for six years. Cut all department budgets by ten percent this coming year followed by fifteen percent the next year (only five percent for Defense). Defund obamaScare. Reduce each congressman’s and senator’s staff by fifty percent; reduce their travel and per diem by eighty percent. I’m sure I missed some but that will do for a start!

I propose that each and every Republican stand and repeat the above Obama quote verbatim during the upcoming debate on (yet again) raising the debt ceiling.
The same way it always has. You agree to "cut" now, but when the time comes, you spend more.
