I tried that. I responded to everything in a traffic stop in spanish. There is a lot of information about you in state databases. I got no ticket for having a headlight out. The next day I got a citation in the mail for interfering with a police officer, along with a required appearance before the judge.

Each day the cops do a sort of close of business at the end of their shift. They look over each citation and report for any errors and discuss them with each other. Any corrections or changes and they just issue another "corrected ticket" and mail it to you. It turns out one of the cops knew our family from the local high school.

That little prank cost me $280.00.
