I wondered how far they would go down this “targeted” road. Thats such a common way to refer to the plan to unseat an opponent. Ditto for calling a debate a “showdown”. Making a good point is referred to as “scoring direct hit”, or a “bullseye”.

Can they ever just let a nightmare pass,, without trying to use it to bump their position in the polls?
