That is what is wrong with the standard “insanity” defense. Insane people commit crimes all the time with full knowledge of what they are doing, and what the logical consequences are.

Oh, he knew it was wrong, and he pre-meditated it. Insane like a mad dog...and the same thing needs to be done with him.

Problem is, all leftists, marxists, socialists, statists, etc. are afflicted with the same. They just go about the abject control a little differently. But in the end it boils down to the same thing. Do as we say and fall under our control...or die.
