Not that I would ever defend Obama personally, but that’s not the way he presented it; he stated that they’d gotten word that shortly after he had visited her room, that she opened her eyes. He never said that she did it while he was in the room.

The key words were, "For the first time." He could have been even a little more truthful by saying, "Again," but he chose not to be.
